So the much vaunted last minute defensive signings from City and Utd are, in fact ... more projects. So much for Frimpong going straight into the matchday squads then?

Don't get me wrong, we need to sign guys like these and hope we can develop them further ... but that's not exactly the story we got when they signed.

Surely they are nearer first-team ready than some of the kids on that list?! Or is it all down to the arithmetic of home-grown numbers in the squad?

.. BTW I tried to clarify things for myself by going onto the club website (I know, I know ... never a good idea for any up-to-date news!). Neither Frimpong nor O'Connor are in ANY of the squads listed. In fact, our "Reserve Squad" only has 2 defenders. WTF?!

Saw the title and thought it was a thread about something Spanish.
