Manchester City squad assembled for €1b.

Premier League champions Manchester City are the first team in football history to spend more than €1 billion to assemble their squad, a study has shown.

Data from the Swiss-based CIES Football Observatory showed that Pep Guardiola's club spent €1.014bn on their squad.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain were second having spent €913 million and Spain's Real Madrid were third with €902m.

Manchester United (€751m) have the second-most expensive squad in the Premier League followed by Champions League winners Liverpool (€639m).

how can they afford all of these players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One, they win trophies which brings in extra revenues and sponsorships.

Two, and most relevant, they are financed by an oil producing sovereign state.

Their fans may tell you that they are now self sufficient but neglect to mention that the majority of the club employee salaries are paid by outside sources & their club has sponsors willing to pay many times the going rate for stadium sponsorship etc. that even the world's biggest clubs can only dream of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you suggesting that they are breaking rules. Surely if this were the case they would be under investigation or something? And the rules are tight so they wouldn't blatantly break them, they'd have to cover it up, but surely they'd be stupid to do this and it wouldnt just represent a breach of the rules but also a deliberate cover-up. Double deceit !

How does one go about choosing who to support? It should be forced upon you at birth. It's not a choice.

How many people were at your birth?

Was it a mixture of people from Dundee and Manchester?
