A new era starts today as Keith hill takes charge of his first game in charge. Thankfully a shorter trip today after the long haul journey to gillingham. A sell out away following to the New York stadium. Not a happy hunting ground, a 4-2 and a 4-0 defeat and a 1-1 draw last season, all have been championship fixtures, unfortunately both sides were relegated last season. Team news. Unlike parky who updated us on fitness issues Keith hill is tight lipped giving away nothing. 8 of the 9 new signings could feature today. What we do know.
Joe bunney will be out for a while after a car crash, thankfully it wasn't worse. Liam Edwards, Josh earl and connor hall still out. Heading into the unknown a bit as no idea which of the new signings or young players will be involved today.

Would rather have signed o'Neil than some of those on the pitch today but that ship has sailed as limited now to one free agent.

A couple of days off before we go again against Oxford on Tues night

Good time to have a midweek game. Would look to make minimal changes. Zouma in for Wright who was bullied and so off the pace it was untrue. Hopefully brockbank is back for Emmanuel if not Lowe at rb. Hopefully one of the strikers will be fit and verlinden and politic can play off him. The keeper. Matthews is having a nightmare, alnwick has to come back. First thing is hill has to make Bolton hard to beat, too open yesterday, obvious fitness issues yesterday but hopefully that will come in time.

Can Hill & Flitcroft repair the wheels on the wagon before we face Oxford? He going to need to be able to perform a miracle. We can but hope. I'm not writing anything in or out.
We might see a different team on the pitch and I'm not alluding to changing eleven players.

Doesn't need 11 changes, just the 4 I mentioned. Bridcutt looks the best signing, comfortable on the ball, sat deep like campo did. Didn't really help out the defence though. Just fitness and cohesion issues to sort. Hill juggled things through the match. Crawford, politic and verlinden rotated through the match as striker, Emmanuel started at right back, lowe came on for weir and played right back and Emmanuel went right wing then went back to right back when Darcy came on for Murphy and Lowe went to midfield. Going to be hard for hill to get the right blend but games coming thick and fast will help. Has to stop conceding goals first and foremost.

Benny, I was intimating that there wouldn't be wholesale changes in playing staff but obviously some changes. What Hill and Flitcroft need to do is to work on is tactics and if he now has a better idea of who is best players are or the ones that definitely are not up to speed he needs to make the appropriate changes. Fitness is something that should improve over the next month, so it isn't going to be a quick fix.
We still hope for a better result than Saturdays.

The sick bays full yet again, the nightmare start may not yet be over, it’s going to take time,
We could get something from Oxford,
We need them strikers fit for the Sunderland match that’s for sure.

I doubt we will have ny strikers ready for action. We will just have to play with what we have.
I won't be on the forum tonight, I have to have an early night. I will be up at 4:00 am. We will set off on an almost 800 Kl drive to Bilbao before we board the ferry to Portsmouth. It's a drive that I have done several times so it doesn't phase me but I need to be fully rested before I undertake the trip.
Good luck to the team and I sincerely hope that we don't get another tonking. I won't be speculating on the result as we all know that it's too early to be expecting too much. However, we do need to stop the opposition having a goal fewst at our expense.
