True. I've always caught quite a bit of grief whenever I said that to defend him.

But the lad's confidence is completely shot. He's completely lost the fans, and his head coach spent the entire summer hawking him out to whichever club would listen.

You could clone two prime Alessandro Nestas and they would still struggle playing at Centre Back for Arsenal.

Zero protection from midfield.

Zero protection from the fullbacks, whose only concern is keeping their arms out of the way of an incoming cross.

Zero input from a functionally mute keeper.

Luiz is only the latest victim of our poisoned chalice.

That being said we could quite easily upgrade on the 2 clowns at the back. That fact we are pinning our hopes on Rob Holding to improve our defense shows how bad the situation is

Honestly its our midfield. Any average team can go through that midfield at ease.

David Luiz has given away two penalties in four games for Arsenal.

He gave away three in 160 games for Chelsea.

He also played 36 90-minute league games for Chelsea without a single booking last season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him collect 5 yellows by the time he's played 10 games for us.

Can't really blame him though. You can't join the circus and not expect a pie in the face every now and then.

Yep, usually Xhaka constantly giving the ball away putting us under pressure, unnecessary fouls giving the opposition great opportunities with free kicks near our goal or otherwise penalties. Oh and Ozil who cannot be bothered to even try a sprint / recovery tackle when he himself loses the ball, let alone when a teammate does, it's like defending with 1 less player on the pitch.

Fabulous decision by Chelsea to shift him this summer, looks even more at sea than usual.

He'll score a couple of worldies at least.

Midfield for sure doesn’t help. We’re basically only top half table team who seem to always have attackers running free at our defence with almost the oppositions every attack. It forces our defenders to be constantly making desperate challenges. Of course the likes of the sokratis mistake can’t be blamed on midfield, but many of the defensive errors are due to bad play in midfield. We let so many shots in on goal because there’s 1 midfielder at best who’s closes down spaces outside the box.

The midfield is also poor in attacking, we can’t connect to our front 3 as well as we should be. Thankfully Lacazette and Auba are clinical because we don’t create half the amount of chances we should. We barely managed to get Pepe in the game against Watford
