Do these players honestly care?!

It just seems like to some it’s all one big joke to some of them. Their are some distinctly average players on huge money who just shrug their shoulders at the end of the games. It doesn’t seem to bother Luiz when he needlessly gave away a pen. Just like the other week when he made two awful errors against Liverpool. Then he’s pictured after the game smiling and hugging Salah. Sokratis with a horrific error which then gave Watford the encouragement to search for the second. Xhaka who is consistently having poor games coming out talking before the game blaming others in the team as to why we didn’t beat Spurs. The guy is rubbish, how have we gone from Vieira, fabregas to him!.

Don’t get me wrong I thought Unai made some very poor decisions today including taking Ceballos off and making Xhaka captain, the guy should be nowhere near the team imo. Yes Emery is def partly to blame il concede that but some of these errors are pathetic and from very experienced players that do not need telling yet they keep making the same errors. You wouldn’t see them errors in top Sunday league team. Is their real scrutiny after games, do they actually give a damn. Are some of these players tactically intelligent enough to understand what is being asked of them!.

Really we should have lost that in the end, kudos to Watford they battered us in the end. We shouldn’t have gifted them the opportunity in the first place, It feels like a defeat anyway. Emery def poor but honestly feel some of these players couldn’t give a t oss.

Well then Xhaka will see off two managers. Edu is going to have to step in and have a word with Emery. Edu played with Vieira. Think he knows what captaincy looks like.

I thought the players showed a lot of heart when they all rushed in to defend Pepe after a bit of rough treatment from the Watford left back.

But we can't really expect them to start running into walls for a manager who clearly hasn't figured out exactly what he wants from his side.

That’s why I said ‘some’ players. Making the point that when they make mistakes it doesn’t seem to bother them and they shrug it off. As for Emery , well at 2-0 what more can he do than trust his players to see it off, is it his fault that Sokratis and luiz messed up. Yes I admit emery lost his head with the subs.

we were 2 nil up and comfortable then Sokratis did what he did. How can You blame Emery for such an easy mistake from a very experienced player. You can partly blame him for his poor substitutions ect.

No, we were 2-0 up and the manager asked them to sit down and protect the lead.
It is all good but when the also against possession football and doesn’t like players who can retain the ball, then it will automatically lead to mistakes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What makes you think Emery told them to sit. Emery first sub was Ceballos for Willock. If he wanted them sit he would brought on Torreira!

I thought Sokratis really chewed himself out after his blunder. He's probably re-watched that particular clip 200 times by now.

As for Luiz, I wouldn't really describe what he did as a blunder. He won the ball off an opponent and was more than 10 yards into a counter attack by the time the whistle went. He was perfectly justified to feel hard done by.

Are we going to ask the players to rend their garments and cover themselves in ash after every bad game now?

So Luiz giving away the pen wasn’t a blunder 🤔?. My gripe with Sokratis was his error but I used Luiz as an example at Liverpool where he was very poor then laughing after the game with the player that made him look silly. Wouldn’t have seen Adams or Vieira doing that. Then you have Error prone Xhaka who before the game wouldn’t take responsibility for his mistake.

I am starting to question Unai Emery's management.

What's his philosophy?

Playing from the back statistics say we make more mistakes than any side

Under Unai Emery's best performances were Spurs 4-2, Leicester 3-1, and Fulham 5-1. However, I believe Fulham and Leicester performances had Wenger embodiment so system of a team don't change overnight. The only thing I can give him credit for is the fitness at that time, but now they look like they are lacking that.

Xhaka isn't cut out for the Premier League even if we force the situation you need someone like Kante to clean up his mistakes. In my opinion, I wouldn't play him in any away games apart from Sh. United and Newcastle maybe. Those teams lack quality midfielders who can cause problems.

Away from home I'd play 3-4-2-1 with...
...Sokratis...Luiz... Holding..
AMN... Guendouzi... Torriera... Kolasinac..
...Pepe... Ceballos/Ozil...
.... Aubameyang.......

Back five without the ball and back three with the ball gives us protection and Wenger tried it and picked up some points on the way even though we're horrendous.
You also have to sacrifice Ceballos or Ozil for defensive reasons.

There will be shocks in the Premier League because away from home you won't pick up easy points you must fight for it and we often play too casual.

Because this week I thought Chelsea would lose and Man City would win.

Don't think it's a matter of not caring. We've accumulated a group of players with lazy playing styles and a manager seemingly inept at coaching it out of them or adapting our style to suit.

I think that these players are reflecting the style of a lazy and inept manager. If you watch Emery on the sidelines he looks totally clueless and certainly not a "take-charge" manager.

I disagree I think it is a matter of caring, you look at the attitudes of Liverpool and city players. They aren’t messing around and they berate their fellow players even if they concede a goal let alone a defeat. You watch Van dink’s reaction after Newcastle’s first. That is how much they care and why they are miles ahead of any other team in the prem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You think that is down to the players Liverpool and City have, or down to their managers?

Well it hasn’t been all rosy for Klopp has it, he struggled with Rogers’s squad he inherited. He’s brought players who are hungry and have fantastic attitudes. If you do not have the right players how can you effectively execute your plan. I’d say half and half and again I’m not saying Emery isn’t at fault but how can it help when you have players who constantly do silly things.
