Race for top 4

So the teams who were touted as going for top 4 are now all on equal points

utd
chelsea
arsenal
spurs

and the team everyone thought could potentially knock the top 6 off their perch, leicester.

Odds for top 4:
Spurs 8/15
arsenal 1/1
utd 13/8
chelsea 7/4
leicester 7/1

So who do we all think?
I said after we lost 4-0 at utd we would finish above them, such was the freak result that didn't reflect the game but still not sure on the top 4.

With tammy and mount in this form, and kante, rudiger, pedro,RLC,CHO,James,Emerson all to come back in I cannot see why not though.

Leicester have had a tough start fixtures why and still done well. Anyone think they could do it?

I reckon us and spurs.

One caveat for Spurs is we might lose Eriksen in January. In typical Levy style he probably won't replace and it'll be at a time in the season when we could do with him.

I have a really good feeling that we'll get Dybala in January, that'd be huge.

you wont persuade Dybala to come in whilst you still have Kane, he wont play second fiddle to anyone, and i dont blame him.

Dybala would be a shoe-in to our first eleven if he joined, no two ways about that. He'd play off Kane upfront.

manc I think its the fact they outplayed chelsea second half, gave utd a tough game, have a decent team with ndidi and the emergence of maddison and choudhary and chillwell.

Theyve played utd and chelsea away as well as wolves and are still on equal points with us. They have spurs and liverpool the next couple weeks. Then other than arsenal have 7 or 8 fixtures they should win.

I dont think they will but think they're best placed out of the rest.

There first team is decent and can give anyone a game granted but its not the games against the big clubs. Its against the smaller clubs where they consistently fall down. Out of their first 11 they really are not very good. If they finish within 10 points of the main top 6 i will be surprised. They play pretty possession football however have very little cutting edge. Maddison is huge for them. Cut him out the game they are pretty much done

The weakness of Frank style of play is the pressing game.

Your forwards and midfield push up to press but your defensive line stays very deep. There is a sea of space between the midfield and defence when you break the chelsea press. It is was very evident in the Leicester game. Your forwards are only fit for 45 minutes to play the pressing game.

I think with Rudiger coming back will help Chelsea to play a high defensive line. Experience at the back is very important to play an offside trap.

Wouldnt say its a weakness, our pressing is actually very good. However with kante out and rudiger it has been too easy for people to break on us when we lose the ball. When we press we rarely leave space behind.

The odds seems about right.

At last a long overdue change in culture at the club.
It appears that there is a good blend of experienced and youth players in this squad. A top 4 finish is probably a bridge too far for us, and should not be a necessity this season (it would be a great bonus if we do). An establishment of such culture will give the club a desired identity, and a set up designed to provide a continuity of producing teams capable of competing on all fronts for a foreseeable future.

Personally, I feel a bigger accomplishment would be a full Integration of Tammy, Mount, CHO (has he signed yet?) into the starting XI. Early days, but so far, Tammy and Mount are showing good signs of progression towards this, as should CHO when he returns from injury. Also, giving regular epl sub appearances to the likes of Reece James and Tomori (although Gilmour the would probably fall into that category as well) would exceed my expectations.

I am a lot more confident of our chances of doing ok this term than I was...once we get everyone fit & the likes of Willian, Giroud, & Alonso realise they are not guaranteed a start now we will fly - these youngsters asre showing no fear

Liverpool will be a huge test though...Valencia also given our youngsters lack of Eurpean experience

Given how many important players we’ve been missing, if we can get everyone fit and sort our defence I think we’re much better than United and Arsenal.

Spurs 3rd and Chelsea 4th I think.

Oh I still think 4th is a huge ask....top 6 is more realistic

difficult to say after half a dozen games though
