Some of us love you too Lamela

“I love Tottenham too much, every season more and more," he said. “It’s been a lot of seasons here, a lot of years. Every season my love is more. My family is very happy that I’m here."

It actually shows that he loves the club in his celebrations and effort he puts in. He probably appreciates the club sticking by him through his injury spells.

I think if he can stay fit he will be contributing decent numbers in terms of goals and assists. He needs a bit of luck in this department or this might just be his last season.

Brilliant squad player no doubt about it. Should he start every game ? Probably not, but he’s doing the business so far this season so who’s to complain. Still, a great squad player to have in the ranks.

That's it.

My view too. He was bought on a fanfare of someone who is a young "Messi" like playmaker. Yes, I recall that. We were then told he was going to need 1 or 2 seasons to get used to the pace of the premier league.

He's had more than that to show us his ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck and turn the game to our favour. Can he do that? No fkn way!

He is more a bit part player and though I did appreciate a lot his efforts and chasing down every ball, but by now I was expecting to see something more than running round like a headless chicken.

His goal on Sat is more due to a sublime move by the team and the setup by Kane, and all he had to do is meet the ball!

I am fine with him being a squad player but when Poch starts paying him instead of Eriksen, like he did against Villa/Newcastle, I think that's a very poor judgement.

I guess Lamela needs to prove it to the club that he can achieve a higher level of contributions, other than petulant displays that gets him carded.

Only two yellow cards out of 5 games not bad

Don't know about that. He ran his tiits off to get himself in the position.

He was involved in Son's 2nd too, that ball into the middle with the outside of his foot. Helped rip Palace apart.

He was good against Arsenal too. Ran back and made some important challenges.

Like I said, if he stays fit and gets a run of games under his belt, judge him then

He should love the club... we have paid him a fortune and he has not offered enough for the financial outlay. He gives his all when he plays but I sadly don't think he's good enough. He's a step below the level Spurs want to be at. He, like Sissoko are 2 of the reasons why we have struggled to take the next step and win something... Neither are technically good enough and until this summer we have failed to upgrade our weaker players

Loyal player who gives 100%. That is all i ask of Spurs players.

We know we are not going to have the star studded squad of those squad propped up by the wealth of a nation.

Look at Liverpools back up....Shaquiri, Milner Ox, Origi, Gomez. You don't need world beaters in a squad to win stuff, you need a fine balance of top quality and desire & commitment. Lamela has the latter 2 in bucket loads and that's why he is trusted by Poch.

we didn't win anything with class players like Bale Modric VDV King and the rest ..... so a bit harsh to pick on sissoko and lamela who are both very good squad options.

I think a lot of the time we look a better team when Lamela plays, he sets the tone for our pressing with his work rate and enthusiasm, which filters through the team.

He needs to stay injury free though and I reckon his goals and assists would increase quite a bit, but it remains to be seen if his luck with injuries has changed.

Lot of the people here prepared to be so lenient with Lamela, forget we bought him as a hottest young prospect and as such we paid premium money for someone who turned out as a squad player only. Also, you forget if Eriksen had left us, we would have to rely on Lamela to lead the line and serioulsy I'd be worried then.
I have nothing against him but we have to remember we paid good money for him

I admire his tireless running like I said.

So if Eriksen had left it would be Lamela's fault h'es not as good or plays in the same position

Cannot knock Lamela for his contributions this season. Deserves his place.
