How to make things better?

Morning internet friends

I woke up yesterday and today angry

I'm so completely disillusioned with football and Spurs at the moment and I have been for a while now. The champions league run papered over the cracks somewhat but other than that, I have not enjoyed watching us play for a while

not because it's not entertaining, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't

I just don't have the passion I did when I was younger. Maybe having 3 kids does that to you, but when we score a goal these days, it is greeted with a mini fist pump rather than over the top celebration (champs league run aside)

The last time i felt completely connected to the players and manager was during the Harry Redknapp days. I love Poch, but I don't bother listening to interviews anymore, whether it's players on coaching staff, it's just boring as hell, same cliche'd philosophy chat, same cliche'd 'we have to do better' nonsense

what I am wondering is how to resolve this disconnect, I surely can't be the only one feeling this with our current team

During the Harry days, there were so many players I absolutely loved

Corluka
Walker
Rose
Modric
Bale
Lennon
Van Der Vaart
Pavlyuchenko

but currently, i think there are:

Rose and Son whom I am endeared to
that's about it

the rest of them i'm not fond of for 1 reason or another

has anyone else noticed they have become disconnected from the team and how do we go about resolving this?

I have already decided this is my last season as a season ticket holder. The expense is ridiculous and the last time I really enjoyed football was our last season at the lane. Apart from the rubbish football we are playing at the moment my biggest annoyance is VAR. Before VAR we scored a goal I had a quick look at the linesman to see if there was an offside and then celebrated. Now we score a goal and it is just not the same waiting to see if it is allowed or not. It may make more interesting TV but it has ruined live football. Next season I am going to watch a lot more lower league football instead.

You can't even do any subtle fist pump celebrations anymore due to VAR.

To be honest, I was pretty annoyed at that loss at the weekend, which in a way is a good sign because it shows I'm still into this team. Other dropped points in recent games haven't affected me as much as that one, which is why I bothered to create an article, something I don't tend to do anymore.

I actually have faith in this team that we can turn it around, more so now after that Palace performance, which was the most convincing performance we've shown in a long while. Just need Poch to make the right in game decisions and to have a full team back without the injuries, and I believe we'll start flying again.

i genuinely can't see it being turned around though without Poch at least trying to look like he's enjoying himself

i don't think Kane is going to change. He will continue being greedy, dropping too deep, playing regardless of how bad his form has been etc

Eriksen going
Toby going
Jan probably going
Rose going
Moura (should go due to poor treatment)

So where do you think that Palace performance came from then? Cause that was more like the older Spurs.

We need to remember that we've had a tough start. A run of winnable games will help.

not sure, but again, even the worst sides have resounding wins here or there

it isn't a fair representation of our current situation

I was just saying in the office;

watching spurs at the moment is like when I was quitting smoking

"i'll watch one more, but then thats it"

"ah go on, one more but then that's really it"

so frustrating

and then it's not fair on the kids and wife when I'm in a radge cos we're a set of bottling pansies

We see more of the same against Southampton at home (if that is our next league game?) I'd be as concerned as you. Of course we also need to beat Colchester midweek.

yeah, having said that, I wouldn't be surprised

the other problem I have is that we could potentially smash the next 2 sides

but then lose embarrassingly and pathetically to the next 3, however they may be
there is just no consistency to our results and more worryingly, our style of play and performances

It can be seen as a negative that we've thrown the leads away but at least we've not been conceding first as much now, and have taken a 2-0 lead in each of our last 4 games. Obviously I'm counting the ruled out goal against Leicester as one but we know that was pretty unlucky and had it stood it most likely would have been a very good win against a strong team away from home.
