Has there ever been a day,,,

...where United and Liverpool fans genuinely cheer their cross-town rivals?

We're miles behind obviously, but I still think it's an indictment of the league as a whole that you almost find yourself wanting City to win in September.

This isn't me being a bitter United fan, as I have no doubt that City and Liverpool are by far the two best teams in the league, bit I think it would be better for the league as a whole if they were likely to finish on 80-85 points at the end of the season, rather than pushing the 100 mark again.

The rest just aren't stepping up and making it a competitive or compelling league to watch

So why do you (almost) want City to win, if you’d prefer the league to be more competitive and for them to finish with fewer points than they have done the last two seasons?

Surely you’d want them to lose every game, as I do

Because I'm aware of the fact that Liverpool have won 16 games in a row. And it's very obvious, even in September, that they will drop very few points.

Whereas, if the league was competitive, and both those sides were likely to drop points on anything approaching even a semi-regular basis, then I'd be quite happy to see City lose, knowing that it wouldn't take months on end for them to potentially gain those points back on Liverpool.

Like I said, it not competitive and Liverpool won't drop many, if any, points in games you wouldn't expect them to

It’s so irritating watching Liverpool win every game. I never feel like they’re not going to win. It really does look like they’re fully locked onto the trophy and are going to win it this time

Still think it’s City for the foreseeable personally. If City can take four points from Liverpool I think that’ll be enough as the season pans out.

Luck seems to be with Liverpool this season though. Feels like it's 'their year'.

Still not counting us out yet

7 games in and the he red side of Manchester has already turned blue. Deary me.

What is depressing is, we are so far behind City, one day we will find ourselves not wanting either of them to win the league.

I knew we were not going to challenge. We are not even playing good football and this for me is the depressing part

Leicester have a habit of ending Liverpool's runs, we did it at Anfield back in the 80's when they were unbeaten in a ridiculous amount of games so hopefully we can do it again. Managed a draw there last season so hopefully we can nick something next weekend too. It's not like they're unbeatable, they were easily got at by Sheffield United and Chelsea should have scored a few more too.

I don't want them to win the PL, anyone but them and Spurs, who obviously have no chance anyway in any year 😂
