On Thursday Wolves travel to Turkey to take on Besiktas JK.
Nicknamed The Black Eagles, Besiktas play their home games at Vodafone Park Stadium which has a capacity of 41,900. The Stadium is located in the Besiktas district of Istanbul.
The club play in the Super Lig and have never been relegated from the top tier. Last season they finished third in the table. In the 2016/17 season Bsiktas won the league title and the following season they got to the last 16 in the Champions League.

The current Head Coach is Abdullah Avcı and the goalkeeper is Loris Karius who is on loan from Liverpool. The squad currently contains 12 international players and they normally set up with a 4:1:4:1 formation.

Curious fact:
In the 2011/12 season the Besiktas team was managed by ex- Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City, Portuguese Manager Carlos Carvalhal who strangely enough, in 2006 managed Braga, also in this Europa League group.

After winning 6 out of 6 Europa League games prior to the group stage, Wolves lost 1-0 at home to Braga 2 weeks ago.
Wolves go into this game on the back of their first Premier League win, having beaten Watford 2-0 on Saturday which will hopefully give them a much needed confidence boost.

Surprised Traore doesn't start, feels like a game for breakaways. Maybe he will make an impact later on

Besiktas evidently had a player injured in the warm up

What a different club Wolves are now than back in the days of Mick/Connoe/Jackett/Stalbakken/Saunders.
Whenever names are mentioned from that period, angry words are exchanged, bitter arguments erupt and batle lines are drawn.
These days the goings on at the club, both on and off the pitch are discussed in a reasonable manner with opinions aired which are agreed with or disputed as is the way with adult discussions.
Our club are doing great things on and off the pitch. They make us proud to be fans and hope to God we never, ever go back to the days when all we felt was hurt, anger and doubts for the future.

I blocked him, so wouldn’t see any more of that nasty stuff anyway. 😎

Really not sure where I said I fully blame Johnson but go with that if it suits your argument. We were discussing him so that’s who I referred to.

I do think a lot of the blame falls at the door of Johnson and O’Hara for how things went sour while they were here and how things improved once they went. Others made mistakes but most of those overall did a good job for the club. Those two are examples that overall did a terrible job for the club and I don’t feel any inclination to do anything but criticise them.

At least Johnson had the balls to admit that he under-performed and was as much to blame as anyone for the poor performances. I don't recall O'Hara or anyone else admitting they were at faul.

O'Hara

I knew Gerry O’Hara in the ‘70s. Skilful midfielder. Follow him on Twitter, and engage occasionally.

Half time. They’ve had 6 attempts to our none. Bit concerning.
