Most of my friends got skelped as kids and they are well adjusted adults now with families of their own.

Other people I know didn't get skelped and are just fine too.

As long as you don't take your anger out on them and you don't hit them hard or for feck all, skelping is fine imho.

That’s what childline is for.

I just tell my kids that it's their fault and they'd get taken away if they tell anyone about it. It's called respect

I must be a total woose & would be totally rubbish in a fight.

I've never been hit or hit anyone in my entire life.

I have no idea what either feels like.

I was the wee prik who spoiled things by breaking up fights at school.
