βThere will always be different opinions, and thatβs OK. We respect that. But at the same time we have to make our own decisions and move on."
Respecting othersβ right to have an opinion different from the one we ourselves have, without telling them they are wrong, a f**king idiot, or something similar. What a novel concept. I wonder if it will catch on.

I respect your right to construct sentences that make no sense, Spart.

Aside from this little ‘feud’ I also thought his interview was excellent. He’s grown on me this last week or so.
AND he’s recognised and acknowledged we are 5hit at defending set pieces!

Apparently we are joint third in the list of most goals conceded from corners this season. There have been four. It’s a relatively small number so some distance short of any sort of statistical significance. If it continues like that though, it’s too many.

It’s not just corners Vidal. Set pieces in general. Even Chris Coles on radio Derby spoke at length this evening about our set pieces being 5hite at BOTH ends.

Vidal
Generally, I wonder what the proportion of goals from set pieces to goals from open play is in the Championship ? (Hope that makes sense?)
Might tell us summat ?
Perhaps Scouse can inform us ?

Baz, I agree with you, and with Cocu’s assessment of it, that it is to do with the desire of individuals to attack the aerial ball with conviction. There are those that do, and those that don’t, those that sort of jump in the general direction but who don’t regard it as a matter of life and death to get their head on the ball rather than the bloke wearing a different colour shirt. We have too many of the latter.

Agree. As I’ve banged on about everywhere also this week I feel Roos’ reluctance/inability to command his 6yd box and catch a ball (let alone punch) plays a huge factor also. Instills panic across the whole back four and defence in general.

Baz, I do not understand what you mean by "even Chris Coles". He is a decent programme presenter with a pleasant voice and clear pronunciation but his footballing opinions are not above the average, in my opinion.

And, geting to the heart of the matter, I think Carson was a better goalie that Roos, but the latter is one for the future whist Carson was getting to 'the end of the day'. Personally I would have kept Carson though Roos has stopped some pretty good attempts on his goal, non less so than the penalty he saved against Brum.
