This is a major defensive overhaul Eriksen aside, what with certain players transfer listed, not being offered a new deal or into their final year, major surgery is needed, which must start in January.
This situation may also be affecting performances as players are maybe no longer as focused as they once were, knowing their time is coming to an end.
The market value of Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Eriksen is around £145m (if you believe transfermarkt), and they are all looking like leaving for nothing.
I hope our scouts are on the ball as they will need to pick up some bargains, as expensive times are ahead for Levy.

Remember how Foyth was the RB plan for this season?
I could see him being another Chiriches - especially if we get another manager, he’d be off.
Probably should’ve bought a decent CB to replace Toby, let him go and given Jan a 2 year deal. Then Jan could bring the new one through.
Seems to be very little strategic planning for the actual team. Loads around ‘The Club’ though - which is obviously necessary and important. But if you haven’t got a team - what is the club?
My dad reckons Sanchez will come good, but I can’t see it.
Same with Foyth. Too many mistakes - yes he’s young but it’s that he makes THE SAME mistake over and over that worries me. Seems like a Liz type who, for all the ball control and passing ability, is ultimately flawed as a CB.

It`s good that we bring through young players but are we prepared to wait for them to fulfill their potential, we still need a solid team while they are learning and making mistakes.
We need to be looking at top class ready made replacements, which will not be cheap. Levy will have to dig deep.
