Lloris back 2020

So Lloris is out for the rest of 2019.

If Gaza gets injured who do we have in reserve and can he or she catch a ball.

Asking for a friend.

Some time away might do Lloris some good, and he can refocus and come back in some kind of form. He does make too many gaffs these days and does not lead by example, but overall he wins us more points with top saves than he costs us with his fack ups. I would not be surprised if we are now looking for a replacement GK, but there are more urgent areas of the team to upgrade / replace first, like fullback, centre back, defensive midfield and back up striker.

Frankly, what you say here applies to the whole team, not just Lloris.

he makes more saves than errors, yes, but that's his job. hes the keeper, and a supposedly top one too.. there is no credit for making saves... its the bread and butter. its like me saying harry winks controls more passes than he miscontrols.. that's his job.. keep play ticking over.

i expect lloris to make the saves he does, including the saves he made against Southampton, which were quality... what i don't expect is the monumental and inexplicable fack ups that cost us far too often

I've watched the event several times and I still can't figure out why he didn't catch that lob that came in from the left wing. It was routine for him. Maybe sun, maybe just lack of concentration, but that should never happen for a top class GK. He landed heavily on his left arm when he fell backwards.
It was something he must do umpteen times in training - the catch AND the fall.
GOK's what he was thinking.

Anyways, a reserve GK is the least of our worries.

It’s pretty obvious why he didn’t catch it imo

He was in the air going backwards and he thought he would’ve gone over the line with it

Should’ve punch it really
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't look like he was in danger of going back over the line. But why on earth was he going backwards, if he was, anyways?
And if so, why did he not punch it out?
It was a situation he deals with in training several times every day!
Frankly I think it was lack of concentration.
The guy's head was elsewhere, and that is probably a clubhouse probleming that is plaguiing the whole squad ATM.

his new baby might be keeping him up

He was going backwards as it was going over his head. Look where he landed shows he was very much in danger of going over the line if he caught it.

Easy job was just punch it away and reset.

Poor all round from Lamela pathetic closing down to Lloris mis judgement.

Unfortunately with gazzaniga it’s not going to stop any time soon with mistakes from gk

I did say top saves, saves above and beyond the standard.

Sorry you cannot blame anyone but Lloris for that. There was nothing in that cross or shot. Absolutely nothing. There is so defending Lloris.

Well you can as no one should get to put a cross in when our player is 5 years away but ultimately it is his fack up.

the whole performance was total dross from start to finish, and not one single player comes out with any credit, apart from potentially lucas moura who at least had a couple of attempts on goal when he came on, and maybe sissoko who had to play out of position due to aurier being a boob. don't want to witchhunt lloris... my view is that he has been costing us for years now at crucial moments, and as time goes on that opinion has more and more evidence to back it up. lamela generally is a player who always gives 100% work ethic, so his not being facked to close the cross can be seen as shiiiit but uncharacteristic.

Lamela only good thing is his tenacity and when he don’t do that he’s pretty much worthless.

Like I originally said it’s Lloris fack up but I still don’t think he could’ve caught it.

His bad position meant he’s going backwards and would likely thought if he caught it he would’ve gone across the line with it.

His mistake was just not punching it away like he normally does.

I will say one thing though with how many fack up Lloris does he also makes huge saves for us too.

Think will realise how good Hugo is now he’s gone and Gazzainga in goal
