"Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) have told referees not to enforce this law if there is any concern that the substituted player could be a target for home fans."
Er, told Referees not Muppet's!..
The Kermit with the red streak should be opened up and looked into to find out which part off his locker is hiding the anti Leeds bit, than they might find out why he didn't stop the shower that wasn't only on the pitch!..

Am I right in thinking not a single opposition player has been made to leave Elland Road at the opposite side yet? They've all been allowed to walk across the pitch so they don't walk past the Kop or South Stand.
Yet Bamford is made to walk past the Millwall main stand...
Seems like the new rule is only benefiting some clubs when it comes to timewasting.

The issue isn't the new rule. I don't understand that argument. The issue is people spitting on other people. Don't do that and the new rule is no issue.

Obviously you’re right Lubo. That’s how it should be. But we all know it’s not like that and we knew that this would be the result of the new rule so why did they create it? Shouldn’t they have made sure that this behaviour was sorted first?

It has already been established this referee is a numpty!
Law three clearly addresses this:
“the player being substituted:
• receives the referee’s permission to leave the field of play, unless already off the field, and must leave by the nearest point on the boundary line unless the referee indicates that the player may leave directly and immediately at the halfway line or another point (e.g. for safety/security or injury).”

These players are meant to be fit, so, one being numbered for substitution the referee should be instructed and indicate the subs bench and give the player leaving the field of play 15/20 seconds to do so in that direction!..
If that proves to be to much work for the player leaving he should be carded!..
15/20 seconds shouldn't be to hard for the modern day player, but the "water" take they make of a substitution is painful in the modern game and should be dealt with with a firm hand!..
Oh, and I don't mean just Leeds players before the bias refs out there see it from the football authorities side that often seem a bit one sided as far as we go!..

The rule is stupid. Just stop the F******G stopwatch during subs.
