A new epidemic of bin sniffing is taking over Manchester right now, GMP are getting really worried as youths are burning bins and inhaling their toxic fumes for a quick high. This comes after the city was gripped with the spice breakout which has seen the city turn into a zombie town.
For years Liverpool fans have been called bin dippers which in my view is a not a very nice term to use. The tories let the city become a deprived area. With the EU backing us the city was rejuvenated and now doesn't even feature in the top 20 deprived cities in England. Manchester is number 12 and Salford is 18th in the list. Liverpool has been the European capital of culture around 10 years ago and has gone from strength to strength.
A recent report stated that half the children in Manchester live in Poverty
So this is to the lovely Mancunian folks on here. Please stop calling us bin dippers when you can't even feed your kids and you burn bins for a buzz.

In many many cases substance abuse comes after the person is made homeless.
Sorry but your dismissing the addict as a person here, you're not looking at the wider issue of why someone became an addict in the first place regardless of being homeless or not.
Too many people have a blinkered view of an addict, "they're a junkie and so it's all their own fault", which is complete nonsense and a major issue in how society views addicts.

Also there are millions of functioning drug addicts out there working jobs and contributing to society.
I see so many people with this viewpoint, and in 9 out of 10 cases they've never tried anything themselevs but have a know all attitude towards it.

A friend of mine was homeless once, he was also an alcoholic.
I used to wonder how it's possible considering the government provide free housing for people without income. He told me the places he was given had rules around alcohol and therefore he was often kicked out. Until he wasn't allowed in anywhere else.
He gave up the drink when he was told he is very close to dying after his liver nearly gave up. They moved him into an apartment block that had an office with a counsellor. It really helped him. He's now three years drink free.
So yeah, people need help but they have to want to be helped. You can't help people that don't want it.

All sporting rivalry aside, the amount of homelessness in countries like the United States or the UK is quote shocking.
People like to use buzz phrases like "income inequality", when in reality I find that a huge portion of homelessness is attributed to substance abuse.
Companies don't want to hire individuals who have a drug problem, plain and simple.

The EU did not back Liverpool, it's all UK taxpayer money. 6 of the 10 poorest regions in northern Europe are in the UK, the EU promoted diesel engines that are poisoning people in Liverpool all day every day.
A lot of the deprived parts of the country are towns that voted to leave the EU precisely because cities get the big money. My town only recently got a new bus station.
As for Manchester, all true.

That's a very shallow and overly simplistic statement.

Being in the EU means rents and house prices will always rise whilst wages are kept low. Recipe for disaster. Homelessness will be a problem with an unlimited number of people able to come here from the EU to pay more for housing. Where I live people are camping out in woods and by the side of the canal.

Queen Square
John Lennon Airport, not sure if you remember but it was falling apart in the 90s
Public roads and railway
New bus centre and railway station for Birkenhead town centre
Investment and reclamation of land in Knowsley which attracted the likes of QVC who invested £80m in the operation and created 2500 jobs.
New Brighton and the Floral Pavillion investment in the area attracting new businesses and increasing custom for the resort.
The largest EU investment nationally at £50m put into the Echo Arena.
£9m investment into the cruise line terminal
Investment into city centre and other things like foundations and crap totalling £12m
£3m towards funding for restoration of St George's Hall
Investment to restore Bluecoat
Investment in the largest cathedral in the UK
Funding for thousands of sq foot of office blocks
Funding for the theatre in St Helens
£8.3m for a new chord for railfreight to ease congestion
£285m invested to develop the skills of the people of Merseyside
But yes apart from that nothing.
