So if someone has videos or photos that they have taken in their phone that they want to share to their close friends and family, they shouldn’t use a widely used and easily accessible app that’s also on their phone that enables people to do just that, where they can also choose to only allow who they want to view it?

It’s 2019, this is how normal people share these things, it’s easier that writing an email or send physical copies of the photos and videos to those close to them.

Your problem seems to be that you’re angry that someone is rich and famous and thinks they don’t deserve the same privacy as everyone else as a result. You also don’t understand how the vast majority of people share things today and it angers you that they choose to go about it the same way as most people do these days.

I don't think the vast majority of people do use social media in the way you imply.
Of course being rich and famous should not mean you are treated any differently from anyone else. But it does, in the same way that if you go to the supermarket some saddo will always ask you for an autograph or selfie.

For those of a certain age (under 50) they very much do, which both these women are.

I'm pretty certain the vast majority of their friends and family will use social media to communicate with each other.

These women have chosen to be in the public eye. In fact they’ve craved the attention.

If they’re desperate to share things privately with family or close friends then create a WhatsApp group or something more secure. There are plenty of options out there.

Whatever their rights to privacy it’s common sense to know that they would be the target of media gossip given they are in the public eye. They would, therefore, presumably be in the habit of guarding anything they genuinely wanted to remain private with great care and attention. In those circumstances, whatever the rights and wrongs, putting it out on Instagram would, as a minimum, be an act of gross stupidity.

So wives of footballers should only ever use WhatsApp to share things with their friends and family, not Instagram, an app owned by exactly the same company, both of which are still hackable if people really want to.

I'd suggest that they call their loved ones or maybe even go and see them if they have something of real importance to share. I assume that they can afford the cab fare.

other than that....my basement got flooded..FFS
