Start of the rebuild

https://www.footballinsider247.com/four-tottenham-players-set-for-big-roles-in-pochettino-reshuffle/

If this article is true, I for one will welcome it. I can't abide watching already overpaid prima donnas play at three-quarter effort because they'd rather be somewhere else. Clearly we need some ins/outs in the January window, but for now we should base the team around those who still (presumably) want to play for the shirt:

Gazzaniga
KWP
Foyth
Sanchez
Tanganga
Davies
Sessegnon
Winks
Sissoko
Ndombele
Skipp
Moura
Lo Celso
Lamela
Son
Kane

Should be enough in that squad to deliver some results and make us proud.

Wow we’ve really have a poor defence now Verts & Toby are gone

I just want Lo Celso in this team as soon as possible.

Our existing team is quite CAPABLE of doing the do. (Some of) last year's CL run proved this. It's all about MENTALITY, NOT how much money one is paid.

Playing football comes from the heart. Pride, drive, determination, passion... not wages.

Just not showing any of that are they?

Blah, blah, blah, blah

What do you say to the players who showed heart, pride, drive, determination and passion but weren't rewarded for any of it? Alderweireld on £80k at one point potentially the best defender in the league and then you have David Luiz on £125k and Lovren on £100k...

This isn't just a hobby for these players. It's a job and they are looking to earn as much as possible before they retire... as would any normal person in their career

If you feel under-valued and under-appreciated you would lose some of that motivation especially when others are doing less and earning more

Just so ridiculously cliched

Yep, and it happens in work places everywhere.

The big problem Pochettino is facing now is how many players at Spurs, actually want to play for Spurs? Unsure on Lloris and Aurier, Alderweireld and Rose have all made it clear they want to leave the club and Vertonghen is in the last year of contract. That's with Tripper leaving as well. That's the entire starting back 4 really there.

Dier and Wanyama can't get a game in and are being seemingly forced out of the club when players like Eriksen in midfield want to leave and Alli can't really get a look in. It's almost like half of the Spurs squad don't want to be there. Keeping the one's that don't want to be there, but pushing players like Dier and Wanyama out who probably do but are being left with no choice. Poor management all around from Spurs really.

Slightly harsh but even still, forcing them out of the door is only going to diminish the squad harmony even more, something that Poch said was a key factor within his squad. Its not just that, but its the effect it has on some of the other players as well within the squad.
