Lucky boys

Lawrence and Bennett escape jail. 2-year driving ban each and 180 hours of unpaid community service.

The punishment they were given was for the two offences to which they pleaded guilty, Griff.

i just think it’s unjust that the courts didn’t fine them. Where’s the punishment

My mistake I thought it was for the drink driving

I bet they are both laughing tonight

I’m sure they are relieved Griff. I hope they aren’t laughing, I really do. I’m not excusing them, I thought they should have been sacked. It’s true about Ant but the levels of alcohol were higher in his case. I have a feeling it may be either fine or community order for some offences, could be wrong. His fine was half a week’s wage! I hope the community service is properly enforced because that is a far greater hardship than what amounts to a few quid for the players.

Finish training at 2pm go and coach some kids for a couple of hours. Home for 4.30pm soon clock up
Their hours.
I’d make the pair clean public toilets and pick up rubbish

Just hope they get a taxi home from derby city centre tonight

180 hours from today on top of what the club gave them (160?). At the rate of a couple of afternoons a week that would actually take quite a while. I think the club said that at least part of that would be to do with alcohol awareness. I don’t know what the rest will consist of. I would get them to visit schools and talk to kids about how stupid they have been. I don’t know them so I don’t know how contrite they might or might not be. I hope they are and I doubt that they are out drinking in Derby tonight, but then I always like to think the best of people.

Might help TL to improve his form if he gets himself sober too by the sounds of it, (unless it was nothing more than a solicitors wheeze in an attempt at mitigation)?

You often hear of solicitors a trying to throw a few titbits in to try and make their client sound a little more palatable. Usually, for lads, they use the line that they’re a promising footballer but I guess they couldn’t use that in TL’s case?...
