Win at OT and it's a massive win.

In all seriousness ignore how utd have been playing and ignore their league position, how many times has one side or the other been awful only to take a point or points of the favourite team.

Utd will absolutely love it to halt liverpools winning run, to halt equalling the leagues longest winning sequence and be the first team this season to stop liverpool winning....utd will love a scrappy 0-0 defending with 10% possession all game...they would treat it like a trophy win I tell you!

Because it's so hard for us to get a win at OT anyway, because right now our greatest domestic rivals will play out their skin to get a 0-0 and because the crowd will be so emotional...win THIS game and to me it's the game that could be the catalyst for the league.....it's a massive game for our league campaign for me.

winning at old trafford is always a big deal for us. however it is still only 3 points.

Only two games for us are 6 pointers., man city.

Utd are just like any other side in the league. 3 points we need to get. City are so good we need to be perfect for 95% of games.

Well City are not that good, they have already lost 25 per cent of their games in the Prem this season, and are what one point in front of Arsenal.

Wrote this on another thread yesterday and IMO this point has been intensified by the injuries to Pogba and De Gea

United will make this much more difficult than we all expect IMO. They have a 1 game chance to win the fan base back over (in the short term) and to stop our winning streak. Its a really high stakes game but for united mostly with a positive slant. If we beat them and its anything less than a proper battering they will come out of it with some credit for improving.

Essentially if united do anything but avoid a big loss they will get some decent media coverage coming their way....

I said liverpool 3-0 before the injury news. Reckon it could be a similar result to the city 1-6 now. Liverpool still imo haven't clicked and still winning. They will thump someone soon I reckon

Where are utd now at with injuries?

Romero in goal?
AWB at right back??
Shaw at Lb? will he be fat as can be? who knows
Maguire at LCB?
Lindeloff back?

(not disastrous for utd there)

Mctominay there to kick people
Fred (absolutel disaster so far)
Mata? no pogba i think?

James?
Rashford?
Pereira? Martial?

bit of problem at CM and it really depends whos really fit.

Our team is obvious I think, though CB will be a choice after lovrens display 2 weeks ago.

Alisson (surely he comes back in)
TAA
Matip (if klopp is consistent)
VVD
Robertson
Fabinho
Wijnaldum
milner? Henderson played two in the week. its a hard one to call
Mane
Firmino
Salah

It's near impossible to step aside from this fixture and view it as just another three points up for grabs. Pogba not playing for them could in fact be a bonus. It looks as if he's got the skills, but can't be bothered, in his own view he seems to think he is too big for United.

They will be up for this like there's no tomorrow. For me, it's all down to the managers, what they say, how they control, motivate, excite their teams.

Currently, although I'm not tempting fate, in that specific two horse race, there's only one clear and obvious winner.

I can't wait for this game and I'm actually quite excited for Sunday, if all goes to plan. We should be beating United with a bit to spare, but with it being a derby anything could happen. I just think on this occasion everything is stacked in our favour and they look a mess at the minute. I don't think Pogba would even make a difference to them, clearly De Gea is far more important, but with him out it should, on paper, be 3 points for us.

Remember last year. Utd fans cheered as Utd awful team hacked clearances away and scraped a 0-0. That really set the tone for their final run in and the collapse thst came.

If Utd fans back a bus parking effort Sunday then I'm afraid their club is so far gone it's unsaveable in the medium term never mind this season.

Utd fans shouldn't cheer abject rubbish even if it denies liverpool 2 points.

It won't be any more difficult than I expect it to be.

If we win easy I will be shocked.

Lawro must be confident, he's actually gone for us to win this one instead of his usual 1-1 prediction.
