Pressing...

... where the hell has that been all season?

We got a little excited about it from our preseason performances... season starts and it's no where to be seen. Then Liverpool come to town and all of a sudden we remember this is a tactic. SMH...

Clearly it's not something this side is capable of doing for 90mins but no reason we can't come out like that at the start of every game. Hard and fast, preventing the opposition from settling... Get the early(ish) goal then play on the counter.

Ole needs to find a way of instilling this in this side and making it their default approach to games.

PS I think we should stick with this formation moving forward giving more licence to the wing backs and wide CBs to get forward against weaker opposition...

Liverpool had the same issues before and, along with key signings, its one of the things Klopp has managed sort out.

While a top striker would cover the cracks, we need a better midfield as when we have the ball against teams who do sit back we don't know what to do with it.

When we play decent sides the only chances we look like creating are when we turn possession over and attack with pace.

We stopped Liverpool playing in the first, something we have done to a few big sides under Ole, without looking like threatening ourselves.

We’re getting there, we seem to be able to press a little longer into a match with every game. The fitness of the players still isn’t what it should be, even if it’s a world away from our Jose days.

This formation wouldn't work against the lower sides that sit back, its good for the likes of Liverpool and City or better teams that attack where we know we won't have much of the ball, but when playing against teams that will also sit back, its pointless.
