Tyrone Mings

At £20 odd million a lot scoffed at the price tag for what was an injury prone player who couldn't get a game for Bournemouth, well what a comeback he has made, a massive player for Villa now, possibly a nailed on England starter after his performance against Bulgaria, albeit they weren't very good, very assured at the back, vocal and a true leader on the pitch.

£20m in this day and age is a total bargain imo, would or should the bigger clubs be looking at him? Better than anything the likes of Arsenal have anyway and would walk into that Utd defence

I hope not anyway

Flavour of the month.

He made it look so easy in the Championship and has stepped up the Prem, albeit with the odd mistake in him (marking for Brighton’s goal on Saturday was his fault), and £20m looks a snip now. Could win a lot of England caps – he’s good on the ball, has great leadership skills, and speaks very well off the pitch. I have great respect for where Tyrone has come from, how he has overcome his injury problems, and how hard he has worked to get where he is. He also comes across as a great guy. Strange to think he’s already 26, but that’s how much his injuries have derailed his progress.

Will the so-called ‘bigger’ clubs be in for him? Possibly yes, Arsenal look weak at the back for sure and Spurs have CBs who are getting old and regressing. But we are a very rich club these days with a lot of financial backing and a lot of ambition, I believe we will stay up this season and push on in the coming seasons and add to the quality of our team. I think the club will either tell those clubs, he’s already at a big club and not for sale, or we’ll sell him for a huge amount of money as Leicester did with Maguire. We’re certainly no mugs these days that’s for sure.

Personally, I hope he will stay for many years along with Grealish and they both go on to be big players for the national team. I think Grealish will get called up next month and I’m excited to see what he can do in an England shirt as well.

Don't think the "Big 6" will be in for him but those in the other group may (I.e. Wolves, Everton, West Ham, etc). Arsenal make any defender look an amateur and united have Tuanzebe who's younger and highly regarded. Then there is the 80m spent on Maguire, who has played well and improved the defence.

I don't see Chelsea buying him with the options there and the youth players coming through. Liverpool are sorted there and he doesn't seem like a player Pep would buy, at least not for the fee Villa may want.

He's a good bit for 20m.

He wouldn't sign for any of those clubs in the other group you mention, imo for size and stature, they are a downgrade

I could see United being interested if he partners Maguire more at intl level

Utd apparently interested in John McGinn, he and Mings would walk into that side

John McGinn looks decent at Villa but San Marino aside he's been rank rotten for Scotland with McTominay.

Can't imagine they want a piece of that.

Scotland are a terrible team that's why. I'd imagine even Messi would struggle playing for Scotland tbh.
