Hold my hands up

Bamford can’t start next game.

We played really well tonight, dominated a team in fourth.

But it’s gone on too long now.

He’ll bounce back but got to be taken out for his own sake now

These are Leeds United-related stats only btw in case it needs spelling out.....

Maybe it is time MB started both Paddy & Eddie?

Funny how the stats were very meaningful to suit the Kiko out brigade last season though...

though I know what you mean LIW.. but, over a course of the season.. Stats are the facts mate

I think Kiko has vastly improved and was a man ch better solution to BPF.

Only if it’s black and white.

Football starts certainly aren’t.

And Kiko has improved massively this season

The only stat that really works is expected goals because it rates how good chances are. I bet if you looked at Roofe's expected goals last season it would show a very similiar amount to how many he actually scored. As in if he got a clear cut chance, he would score it - can't think of any sitters he missed, only one was penalty at Ipswich.

My issue with Roofe is I don't think he was involved in games as much as Bamford. Which is pretty much the argument we've got with Eddie now.

Bottom line is that Bamford looked shot. You can quote all the stats you like, his head is in a mess. There are lots of things Bielsa can do to address this, but playing him against the Owls is not going to change things. The fact that Bielsa is so stubborn will not help Bamford either, it will more likely put additional pressure on him, when he really needs time out to refocus and regain confidence.. For all his qualities as coach, Bielsa doesn't seem to pick up on the feelings of his players. The missed opportunities really affects morale too, as Alioski's interview showed. The players believe they need ten good chances to score a goal and that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Meanwhile, we still wait for the day when our dominance yields results. We are playing against a resolute Owls team on Saturday managed by a resolute Monk, whose track record against Bielsa is 100%. One goal will win this game. It would be lunacy to expect Bamford to score it.

Again, I believe PB is not a natural goal scorer, he does not seem to get into the right positions ala Linaker / Phillips who were instinctive.
