Amazing player. Him and Sakho have made this season so much easier to handle

Makes it even more confusing why he plays Saka ahead of him, and is reluctant to even use him off the bench.

I guess Saka is more a winger whereas Martinelli a number 9

Exactly what I was thinking, 7 in 7 but Emery still seems reluctant to use him.

Only had about 45 minutes total in the Prem so his goal return is even more impressive.

When he starts he scores!

It’s understandable why he’s not got prem minutes as Aubameyang has been ahead of him. Also it can be useful not to throw in a youngster straight away in the long run. But he certainly has a good shout to be above lacazette for the number 9 at the moment.

Love the way his game is quite simple. He’s always just standing in the right place in the box, and anticipates play very well. He’s a lot stronger and better in the air than he looks as well. Doesn’t look phased playing in these games, and considering where he’s come from how quickly he has hit the ground running is very surprising and very promising

Better than Saka who has picked up prem minute though.

I just really hope Martinelli won't end up being another Carlos Vela, I can remember how good Vela looked scoring a lot in cups, then he was sparingly used in the league and in the end Wenger thought he wasn't good enough and we got rid of him.

Martinelli is more of a left winger naturally, rather than a number 9. Which makes his goal scoring record even more impressive, tbf.

I didn't know he was actually a winger DJ. I think I've seen 4 or 5 of the 7 appearances and watching how he's played I see pure “fox in the box” No9. His awareness is ridiculous for someone that age. When it's that good, that young, it's instinct. We need to keep him healthy, playing and always with 2yrs min on his contract. He'll be worth a MINT. Not that I'd wanna sell him, one of the few we have that's it's truly entertaining to watch.

Would love to see him playing more but as long as we can keep him happy, I'll not moan we don't see more of him. We just have too much history with overplayed youngsters, to begrudge it.
