Say No to summer football

That time of year again.

Clocks have gone back and it’ll soon be Saturday afternoons (meh) with the floodlights on. Travelling to games in ice and snow or at least freezing your bollox off in horizontal rain and wind.

Sheite pitches ripped apart, sand put down or just left as mud. Broony running around in a short sleeved shirt and our players from further afield wearing snoods with their snot dripping out of them.

Ball flying about in the air in every direction while you try and keep warm with nuked offal in pastry and cludgy bovril.

All to finish in May when perhaps you get the joy of a sunny cup final before the season has a 3 week break to start the qualifiers in Europe against teams who are far more up for it as they are part way through their season

What’s not to like?

Summer football and be able to get a pint at half time. 2 wee changes that would make football much better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some can which is annoying
Except of course if you’re in with them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is the guys that tan a bottle of Bucky and 6 cans will still do it and probably won't pay £5 for a pint
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speak for yourself
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know I have always behaved in Bar 72
Miss the pub we had above the rangers shop for a while was decent
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that was good. I think they only did that because we were struggling to sell corporate packages while in the lower league's. I know that Celtic had the same problem while we were away.

"freezing your bollox off in horizontal rain and wind." Pretty much me every Saturday morning Ginger

We'd brought this up with our local footy organisation and the argument (to keep as is) is that many people are away on their hols during the summer.

So they miss a game? Maybe two?

Think the problem (as the IFA see it) are clubs being able to fulfil fixtures.

Typically squads are around 18 players (grassroots) and if in July/August teams have a number away on holiday, runs the risk of games being pulled.

Then go somewhere in the winter when you actually want some sun. Paying fans are the lifeblood of the game.

Keep treating them like sheite and they’ll find other things to do.
