1/3 done

Well, after 1/3 of season done we’re in a great position.

Defence much more solid than last season, I think less silly free kicks conceded early on around our box has been massive, defence looks more cohesive and comfortable.

To be top (obviously might change in next day or 2) whilst not converting chances is an incredible achievement.

At some point Bamford starts scoring again and we’re relatively ok injury wise at this point so very well placed.

Could all change with key injuries, but right now seen bang on target.

Well done so far Bielsa and team.

I don’t know why, but this season feels like it’s yet to spark and properly catch fire.

Yes, feel the same, hopefully a good sign that we’re right up there and we’ll positioned.

Agree re Kiko too, he’s been much more confidence inspiring this season, have no idea howeslier would cope.

I agree. One thing I think is imperative and perhaps the major lesson from last season is we must strengthen in January. Not talking some kind of mad spree that would blow the FFP limit but say 2 smart targeted additions that we get over the line in advance of deadline day and no sales.

Agree with the article.

I certainly think we need at least 1 player in January.

The defence looks spot on. Perhaps lacking a little depth but its hard to find solid cover who can sit on the bench and deliver when required.

Striker...I do go backwards and forwards sometimes with my view. Bamford will start taking some chances. His all round game is vital to our set up. He has to stay.

The midfield is the area of improvement. Its a key area and one that should prosper in a Bielsa team. Having Pablo back is huge. Harrison has done decent and I am fine with him and Costa (who has so far been a dissapointment) battling it out.

I see room for one of Klich or Forshaw. Both leaves us short of goals. A fit and firing Roberts would be huge and could fill that 10 void. If not, at the risk of repeating myself - Vydra may be a solid option.

Only other suggestion is with the exception of Nketiah I don't feel we have that impact sub. The short and fast winger who can spice things up (Lennon is his early days or Gradel in his first season). Someone of that ilk would be ideal.

When Shackleton and Forshaw are back, alongside Alioski, we also have Davis and Bogusz. In the wings we have other kids coming through.

We have a huge squad, we have just had a fair few injuries. Pablo, Cooper and Ayling back for us are massive, showed yesterday. Need to ship Douglas.

I'm not sure we have the money to get anyone in January without selling - and we definitely don;t want to sell any of our first team.

Have a feeling Nketiah may be recalled - yes he finds the net, but we lose our shape. Saving on that money may allow us to get someone else in who really fits, but we would need a backup striker or we need someone better than Bamford who clicks immediately and can do this lone front man role and hit the back of the net.

I can see why Bielsa doesn't like bringing people in half way through the season

Guy at the match yesterday saying Brighton maybe looking to recall White. Huge loss if true.

Anyone heard similar or just fan in the stand talk?

Vof just asked my customer who is Brighton fan and went to school with owner:

Haven't seen anything about that but will keep an eye out. Depends how serious Webster injury is. But even then, we still have Duffy, Dunk, Burn - and Bernardo and Baluta at a push so still sounds unlikely to me.

There is a recall clause but our defence working well at moment.

I hope it comes to nothing ….. he's an important part of us being where we are in the league.
