Elyounoussi and Frimpong

Well done to whoever was responsible for sourcing these 2 players. They both bring an extra dimension to our play. Ely just oozes class.

Think we could afford to buy them - as others have said though - wages are too much unless yer henrik

Elyounoussi was dog schite at Southampton and there won't be any takers at 16m.

You could get him for 10m i reckon.

I think we’ll sign Forster no bother.

That sounds a wee bit too much like "we'll sign McGinn no bother"

Not a chance we should sanction that kind of outlay for anyone to ply their trade in Scotland and the UEFA cup.

And nor should we.

We've demonstrated year upon year we can spend sensibly and keep our wage structure roughly in line with our plans yet still come up with these type of players.

No reason why we can't continue; but £16m plus £60k a week? No way.

Agree with that Ginger. We don’t have to look too far to see what poor financial management of a football club results in.

I don't know as much about the clubs turnover as most on here - including the Rangers fans - but would a few players on 50-60k a week destroy us?

Inflation alone should push our wages up over time, but we seem determined to cap it regardless of the wider market. In the time we've went from our top player being on 30k to our top player being on 25k, other league leaders have doubled or tripled their top tier wages. Will we ever be able to step it up again?

I thought Brown was on about £35k, wouldn't surprise me if Forrest's new contract is worth at least £30k and I think the one we're offering Callum will be around that too.

We could pay a player £60k a week without being in any trouble, problem is half the team would be looking for a huge wage rise and that would not be sustainable.

We offer a good wage and a very good shop window for players, I can't see us changing our strategy as long as we are playing our football in Scotland.

There is no way we will be paying a player £60k a week. That's nearly what Lawwell earns.

That was my point about a few players on the same high wage. Players can ask to match the top earners at a club but a Jordan Henderson will never get paid what a Mo Salah does.

If we have no potential for any player to ever get a wage comparable to Championship clubs then we will start losing not only our best players to clubs who can pay more, but also our average ones.
