Hard to watch

That was a horrible and shocking thing to have to witness on a football pitch last night. And yes I'm talking about Eriksen's performance.

Is he the most overrated player in the league right now? I think he is. Shown himself up to be weak mentally. Wanted to leave Spurs and didn't get his wish and the performances have been terrible as a result. Zaha wanted to leave Palace too and likewise he didn't get his wish, but he got his head down and has performed well. If Eriksen does still want to leave you'd think he'd be doing his best to advertise his value to potential suitors out there. Nothing of the sort so far.

It's not just in this moment that you can question his mentality though. We've seen before that he goes missing in very big games, and often loses out in one on one battles.

Above all this, his set piece delivery and crossing is pretty average. How many times can someone fail to beat a first man at corners? Commentators really need to stop saying things to the tune of "that's unlike him" because it honestly isn't. He does it more often than not.

When he's on it, he's excellent, and has given us good service over the years. But he tends to go missing when you need him most and right now he's a passenger being carried. Giving him the full 90 last night is one of the worst things Poch has done this season.

It’s a complete farce he keeps getting picked. Give GLC a run of games ffs instead of bringing him on for 20 mins every game. If he can’t get in the team with a terribly out of form Eriksen, then when is he ever going to get a chance ? He bottled out of every challenge yesterday eriksen, a complete pansy of a footballer with no balls.

Totally agree with you Don

Even one ball, which was 75% in his favour he decided not to challenge for. In fact I saw him win only 0ne challenge in the entire game.

I can forgive a player playing poorly or being out of sorts, what I cannot forgive is someone not putting in a shift and not trying.

Totally agree with OP and Don. Play GLC and that's how he'll get match fit. Same for Sessegnon, he needs game time now. As for Eriksen where's his personal integrity and pride? Shocking

every team seems to complain about the first man thing in corners. Just need to go away from the near post flick on tactic which is tedious and ineffective 95% of the time.

I’m sure Eriksen is still trying to be good, but he’s so out of form with zero confidence that nothing he tries is coming off. Due to him wanting to leave and running down his contract ( which he is entitled to do) the fans are against him, so the poor contribution is highlighted non stop (Alli has contributed little more than Eriksen in 2019 but doesn’t get same level of stick)

Why poch keeps picking him he alone knows. It’s ridiculous. As for Eriksen, not good enough for the European super clubs and never has been. He’s a good player when the team are playing well and confident but his dismal showing in the CL final just accentuates the fact that spurs is probably his level.

Eriksen`s head is no longer at Spurs, that is perfectly obvious, if his mind is not on the job he is not going to perform at his best.

It`s the pulling out of tackles which really annoys though, Poch should leave him out the team for that alone.

Dele's performances have been highlighted to be fair and he has received stick. If he hasn't received as much as Eriksen it's quite possibly because we know Eriksen wants to leave. I don't have a problem with that by itself, as Eriksen has been here 6 or 7 years and hasn't won anything so I don't blame him (Walker left and has already won 5 trophies with City), but when you're no longer performing on the pitch then your commitment and professionalism will get questioned.
