Did you know?

Did you know that the great Alex Ferguson was once sacked by St Mirren for trying to fiddle the books? Officially sacked for unauthorised payments to players he took it to tribunal and was then accused of intimidating behaviour towards his secretary who refused his request to pay the players tax-free.

Ferguson reportedly blanked her for six weeks, confiscated her keys and communicated only through a 17-year-old secretarial assistant. The tribunal concluded that Ferguson was "particularly petty" and "immature".

St. Mirren chairman, Willie Todd, said that Alex Ferguson had no managerial ability. Wonder what Wille thinks now?

Anybody got any strange 'did you knows'?

Thought he was a self-serving cant. Wasn't best pleased when his rehab was with us but he slowly won me around, only to for him to then fk me over and prove me right in the first place
======

You did go a bit overboard though, surely you'll admit that?

Of course.

It was fun at the the time, karma though!

Yeah, was good while it lasted. Looks like Brendan has really polished his management at Celtic and is now becoming the manager he was expected to be.

I think his skills were already quite polished. What he did with Swansea and then us, with how both teams played, despite up against stronger opposition was excellent. Any manager would struggle when his best goalscorer leaves, his second best gets injured and he's given Balotelli as a replacement, against his wishes. Then of course the Sterling situation, when he wanted to leave.

I think a good example of 'polished' is how our transfer committee has improved, as it wasn't quite working at that time.

Leicester was the perfect job for him at the time. I hope he gives them a few years rather than moving on as I imagine quite a few clubs will be in for him at the end of the season.

Would take Brenda at United in a heartbeat, I said that before we got Ole/before he took over Leicester too.

Yes, he is a good coach. Despite the cringe quotes and what not, he did a good job at Liverpool. Was perhaps a bit unlucky to not get a bit longer there. Either way, he learnt from the experience.

His management has definitely improved at Celtic. He still has some way to go but I believe he is better now than he was when at Liverpool. Therefore, if his skills were already polished then he polished them further.

I always liked Rodgers and the way he's gone about his business since leaving Liverpool is excellent.

Yeah, I think the documentary didn't do him any favours. People took a disliking to him because of some of the things he said. These are things he picked up whilst travelling, learning in other countries, which would seem normal in other countries but people here find them cringeworthy.

Then you have the self portrait which people put down to arrogance but there's a story behind that also. He received that as a gift from a charity he had helped.

Yeah that's how it works. "Silly season" should just be "Silly" because every season is silly season.
