I’m actually here to discuss Chilwell, and my changing view on him.
Now, this isn’t because he had a decent game yesterday. I’m not a knee jerk kind of guy. This is an opinion that has been softening since I read an article in the Leicester Click Bait, which quoted Darren Fletcher of all people.
It said that he speaks to Evans a lot and he raves about many Leicester players, but Chilwell in particular.
I was convinced experts and managers of other clubs (like what does Guardiola know) were falling in to a trap of seeing Chilwell’s YouTube clips and going all Hossein Kaebi on us. That was certainly my view watching him week in, week out, make the same poor passes in the final 3rd, waste possession in dangerous positions or put another cross in to the stand. He struck me a a modern day Lloyd Dyer but without the charm and a bit better at defending.
But since then, we’ve once again seen that he does have some great attributes. His link up play is superb and his close control and passing in tight spaces is also a delight. He’s also becoming a better defender.
So, whilst I still have doubts about whether he’ll become a top player, I do believe we’re in a position to keep him, and we should keep him unless he desperately wants to leave.
Maybe I was wrong and he needs more time. I can’t believe it took Darren Fletcher to convince me.
As for Arsenal, we should keep the same team/formation and tear them apart, but I’ll wait for Joby’s post to discuss the merits of 4-2-3-1 with Choudhury and Ndidi with Gray coming back in to the starting line up!

How low have Arsenal stooped as a club to being dismissed by the likes of Leicester. From competing with Utd for the title to being laughed at by little Leicester and their ratty little players. so so sad

As good as things are, seemingly, right now, I’ve been through many “ups” and “downs” with this club. It’s just a shame some people just can’t go to a match anymore and treat it as a day out without micro-analysing everything and treating it as a life-or-death matter.
