Conte

I know hindsight is great but should we have gone for him?

Fantastic manager who looks he has made Inter title contenders and a threat in the CL.

I like Conte. But I don't think he would have been right for us. He wanted Lukaku and wanted to keep Matic. Ed's incompetence and control would rule up Conte as it did at Chelsea with those a ove him. He'd also be a short term fix to a long term problem at the club.

While I don't think Ole will bring us success as it is right now, I do think that he'll leave us in a better place for the next guy. Most of the signings under LVG have been sold and most of Jose's own signings (or those while he was in charge) have been sold or relegated to the bench/back up position.

If we are to replace Ole we need to look at someone who can help us push on from what we are doing now and not tear up and start again.

He wasn't loved at Chelsea though, so is unlikely to be at United.
Always happy to be proved wrong though.

Lol what absolute BS. If you don’t know what you’re talking about why comment?

Off you go then Randomer, show me why it's BS.
And if that's your best response it may be better if you don't comment.

We really should wake up here. Forget all this pretty football nonsense, we have to go back to winning. Win a trophy by any means necessary and go from there

We really should wake up here. Forget get all this challenging for major honours nonsense. We have to complete the major overhaul required of the squad before we can think about challenging for major trophies

How do we know Ole is right to make those changes and signings?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know he isn't and that Conte et al are? If you looked at the squad we have and thought it was going to challenge for top 4 then I can't help you, throw in the injuries to our best Midfielder, both full backs and are main goal threat and that throws a further spanner in the works. I'm prepared for the club to take a step back to go forward on this.

I don't want a quick fix that will see us in the CL every other season, and do what we have been doing. I have no idea if Ole is the man to do that, what I do know is that he is trying to build for the long term, I suspect his best chance of success will be to leave a squad that needs tweaked here and there to bring about major trophies. However, the likelihood of the Ole out brigade recognising this if it does happen will be minimal.
