They say luck doesn`t play any

part in football. I beg to differ. I think some clubs get more than others.

In the space of a few days, we have seen Spurs, winning 1-0, not playing particularly well, but still comfortably in control of the game, then the ref makes a wrong decision, gives Son a Red, when it should only have been a yellow, and Spurs go down to 10 men, with a fair bit of time left, and lo and behold Everton equalise, and it costs Spurs two points. A couple of days later the Red was rescinded. Do Spurs ever get anything go for them?

Forward on to last night, Chelsea getting beaten quite comprehensively 4-2, then in the space of about 30 seconds, the ref sends off two Ajax players and gives Chelsea a penalty. Chelsea then end up drawing a match, they were easily getting beaten in. If only a bit of that luck was passed on to North London just now and again.

Oh and Ajax, have they become the Dutch version of Spurs, always finding new ways to mess up winning positions.

What could possibly go wrong tonight?

Nothing to do with luck, poor refereeing on both counts. Anyway, they say luck favours the bold and we are so far from being bold, it's embarrassing.

this is 100% accurate

So it was very unlucky Spurs had a bad ref then.

It is not luck, it is corruption and bias

Yeah ajax were lucky tbf, avoiding several yellow cards in the first half. Should have been down to 10 probably before half time, then to have a ball ricochet off the post and hit the keeper in the head, AND get two own goals in one match. uneblievable luck. thankfully it evened out over the course of the 90 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh like half of Chelsea's goals were penalties, and you were playing against nine men. Unbelievably lucky, when you were getting mullered at 11 v 11.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
leave off sandy. Mullered lol

You were losing 4-2. What else could you call it. Ajax even with nine men, could have scored.

We have been lucky for the last 5.5 years at home in Europe apparently and that's why we haven't been beaten

We have also been lucky in 46 league games which is why we haven't got beat

Everton were also unlucky when it came to the penalty decisions.

The last minute Sterling goal being ruled out in the CL against City was a nice piece of luck that went our way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How is that luck? The goal came from Aguero being in an an offside position. That's not luck, that's just a correct decision being made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was still lucky in a sense though, as Erikssen said himself after the game. Had Aguero been a yard back and onside, then he’d still have been free, it was lucky for Tottenham that Erikssens error wasn’t punished.

It wasn’t lucky or unlucky for us though.
