Ayala

Quite a few reports over the weekend including today that we are keen on getting Daniel Ayala from Boro at a cut price in January. Your thoughts on this?

I think he'd be an excellent addition to the squad, probably as injury cover to Cooper and/or Berardi. Adds plenty of height and championship experience as well annoying the Boro supporters. About as likeable as some 606 posters is Ayala, but no doubting he's a decent centre back at this level.

In think this would be a good move.I like Liam Cooper but boy does he pick up some niggly injuries throughout a season and exactly one of reasons why the move would strengthen an area we lack cover in.

He would certainly add some credibility to our reputation as the 'Dirties'. 5 stars from me.

I think Cooper has grown into his role both as player and captain. His record on injuries is poor but I do wonder how much his situation has been exacerbated on the back of Bielsa's training regime and tactics. Easier for younger players to adapt to perhaps?

He has been promoted before and it is an area we lack in depth. He also has height and is a tough nut which we do lack.

I would take him as long as this isn't some 5m type transfer. Would be a useful squad option at a key stage of the season and with Cooper getting regularly injured and Berardi being a hot head - such depth is required.

We can also play 3 at the back if needed giving Bamford the chance to play with Eddie. Plus if we're hanging on in games, he'd be a good player to come on and shut up shop.

At the current moment in time Middlesbrough is going out of the Championship.

I've no idea why they appointed Woodgate. Absolutely no experience and doesn't it show?

Ayala, is the type of player who when playing against you, most hate but I'd take him in a heart beat. He's 29 so wouldn't want to pay no more than £500,000

Good move if cheap enough - lots of experience, lots of height, commanding player, and as much as I like Cooper, he's turning into an old crock. Stevie makes a good point about older players adjusting to Bielsa's insane training regime - wonder whether that's done for Pablo too?
