New Players needed...

In order of priority...

1.Rapid Right wing back: Atal, Aarons
2.Back up Target man: Dzeko, Mandzukic, Maxi Gomez
3.CM: Fernandes or Brozovic
4.Left footed CB: Ake, Malang Sarr

all this scouting malarkey isn’t that hard.

If we could sign players in these 4 areas whilst selling or getting rid of Alders, Eriksen, Wanyama, Aurier and Rose. The squad could be more balanced (with or without Poch)

And how much do you think Maxi Gomez would cost as a 'back up'? Ridiculous shout and he is first choice at Valencia

Has Potch just lost the dressing room or is this Levys fault for not allowing him to turn over the squad?

Seems a huge decline since January, in spite of the CL final. Sometimes when you reach that kind of goal managers and players just don't see what else they can do at a club like Spurs, so maybe it's just an emotional thing what with the new stadium too. Huge come down.

Decline in results but performances are about the same (maybe slightly worse ) but the first half of last season we was getting a fair few late winners.

We only drew one game last season where we are on 5 already this.

The squad didn’t get upgraded last summer and it’s really biting now.

Our defence has regressed hugely even though they are the same names that once did really well.

Depends, some fans want someone to challenge Kane, some want back up for Kane if he is tired. Gomez would still get 70 to 90 mins a week with champions league and premier league.

He would cost 60m minimum

Parting with over £150m for these players is, however.

Actually not on a wind up for a change, serious comment/questions.

Is it likely that any of Toby, Verts or Eriksen will be there next season? Am I right in saying their contracts all expire in the summer so they'll all be leaving for nothing, if they don't sign new contracts of course?

If they all leave then obviously you'll need two new centre halves and an attacking midfielder straight off plus two new full backs because Aurier and Rose aren't good enough. Even the likes of Tarkowski and Dunk are £40m each and I don't think either of them are good enough for Spurs. Realistically I'd say around the £50-60m mark each. You'd probably be looking at a minimum of £30m for a full back but that's very conservative, AWB at £50m is perhaps the barometer now but I'd say Chilwell, Ricardo or TAA for example would cost more and it's players of that quality that you need. So that's £160m to sort the defence out at the cheapest.

Maddison would cost around the £100m mark and again it's a player of his calibre that you'd need to replace Eriksen but maybe you could find a player on the continent for around £50m so now we're up to around £210m. A top quality defensive midfielder is probably another £50m taking it up to £260m and probably another £40m for a decent striker taking it to around £300m. That's just never going to happen, that's even more than City spend.

What are realistic expectations moving forward?

Theoretically a chance Verts could stay because he actually wants to unlike Toby and Eriksen, we might decide not to offer him a contract because of his age and his decline

We've already replaced eriksen with lo celso although maybe another rotation option would be nice but certainly not for 100m

RB
LB
DM
CB

We get those 4 in and anything else (GK, another CB, attacking depth) would just be icing

Yeah I was thinking Verts age might mean he'd be let go or would be a back up next season.

Didn't know Lo Celso was a replacement for Eriksen so fair enough on that one, that's arguably the most expensive player to replace. So you're looking at about £150m at least for those players, what would you expect Levy to actually spend and what would your aspirations be in terms of league position? Challenging for the league/top four/six?
