Mandzukic

Still a lot of talk he’ll end up at United in January.

Don’t think we should pursue this unless it’s on a 6 month loan deal without obligation to buy.

He’s 33, hasn’t played a scrap of football this season and would no doubt still command massive wages.

If there is no one available in January who would improve us in the long term we should just go with what we have got and hope Martial stays fit.

Would prefer Zlatan. The man is a machine.
I think we need a leader and presence in the young team more than the handful of extra goals mandzukic may score ahead of Zlatan.

No.

Doesn’t fit into the style we are trying to implement.

His season with us was vastly overrated and his decent goal tally masked his generally average performances.

He’s 3 years older now.

Mandzukic doesn't quite fit the style either. Were not looking for someone like we already have, greenwood, rashford and martial are pretty similar. we're looking for a more traditional striker for when the situation requires it, and there have been plenty of times where it would have been good to have that this season.

Zlatans ego wouldn’t allow him to accept any other shirt number than 9, he ain’t coming

I just don’t think we should be looking at a short term fix in any position.

Maybe for 6 months but I’d rather see greenwood get games personally.

If Martial has a good season and proves he is the answer up top then we should be looking at a good player who is happy to be back up or a youngster.

If Martial doesn’t look good enough then maybe someone like Timo Werner.

Given that winning the Europa is still probably our best chance of making top four, going into the second half of the season without any traditional nine in the squad and any kind of depth up top is a downright stupid idea.

Mandzukic would be a perfect option on a 6 or 18 month deal. It should have been done in the summer.

What would this signing mean for James Wilson though?

No way do we need Mandzukic.

Dont mind a short term signing if they are top drawer Mandkukic is not.

was good enough to kick England out of the World Cup. He's not a bad striker at all.

He'll be 34 in May. So a short term deal (6 months) might be good. But I have my doubts. Not many players have come to the PL in such an age from abroad and we're successful. The thing that's going for him though is that he is a different sort of striker than what we have. My other worry is that the Italian league my not be as strong as it once was. Smalling has been one of the best defenders there. Lazio lost to Celtic twice. The change in environment at that age may not be the best for him or us.

I didnt say he was a bad striker.
