Vydra

It wouldn't be close to a transfer window if we weren't linked to Matej Vydra. But according to the YEP and various newspapers, Bielsa wants Vydra this time around and we're apparently required to pay 7.5 million for him. He's not featured at all for Burnley this season and has done next to nothing at premier league level at 3 different clubs. Could Bielsa rekindled his quality at Championship level?

For me, he'd be worth signing on loan, but for 7.5, Id prefer we signed someone like Dack or Bowen who are bang in form in this league than sign another potential Costa.

Your thoughts on a potential 7.5 milllion Vyrda deal?

As a team we need to make sure we look at where we are asking Dallas to play...

What I mean is that at the moment we seem to have an injury system which basically involves when injuries get bad we stick Dallas in said position we are struggling and say "It'll be reet.'

We need a little more strength then that (not that I dont think Dallas has been fantastic this season, cause he has.)

Think we need a little strength in the middle, so we dont ever have to have Dallas there.

A centrebak, so we dont have to move one of the other defenders into the middle.

and probably a striker, Roberts is really looking the buisness in that midfield role, he would have been the player I would have played upfront if Bamford picked up an injury, but now I wouldnt, thus a need for a striker

And Vydra...

Look at his season by season stats, he has only really had a couple of really seasons inter-spaced in a lot of bang average ones.

I dont think he would be a good buy if im honest

If we could get someone like Reece James in who would push the right back & cb role in a 3. As well as offer cover for Phillips if he was injured would be great.

Release Clarke and don’t think we need to replace.

Agree don’t want Dallas in the centre but at the moment we have Shack, Pablo, Forshaw not in the side.

would take six months for Vydra to get up to Bielsas required level, can't understand how people don't see this

To be fair, Dallas is only playing in midfield rn because we have had three potential players there injured for a few weeks, Shackleton, Forshaw an, arguably, Pablo. You can't just stockpile players because 4-5 in that are might be injured.

agree, but I always cringe a bit when I hear, "well we have so and so coming back so dont need to sign/play player there"

The way I look at it is you should look at the injuries you have now, the players you have to move around or accommodate, and assume thats going to continue all season, not just hope that players will come back and not be injured again, or other players wont get injured once they return

Every team in the world can strengthen there starting line ups and / or squads. We have no excuses whatsoever in Jan not to sign better players than what we have starting or on the bench. We're lucky Bamford has kept himself injury free so far.

Dack socred 2 goals today, must be worth a go at just 25 too. Woodrow scored again, he has 6 in 14 for the bottom side, won't cost the earth.
