Well there we go, just a couple of

weeks ago, Spurs were sliding down towards the bottom three, and now they sit in 5th place. It was inevitable change had to be made. And thus far it seems the change has worked well, with three wins out of three. Not just the wins, but the goals are starting to flow again, barely a chance created against both Watford and Sheffield United. Against Bournemouth though, three scored, and other countless really good chances created.

Obviously the goals are still being shipped at the other end, but having watched the highlights on Match of the Day again, both goals could have been so easily avoided. The first goal, an unnecessary foul by N`dombele in a ridiculous position, the second goal no way should have Sissoko let the forward go around him, so close to the touchline, and another defender should have shuffled across anyway. Nearly conceded a third and that again was a backpass by Sissoko. All simple mistakes that should not be happening. The players need to have drummed into them, stop giving away silly free-kicks in and around the box, and if a player is going nowhere, just stay with them, no silly fouls.

Big game looming midweek, and feeling a lot more confident about the Man United game now, if Villa can go there and take a point, surely it should not be beyond Spurs to go there and get a win, although I would take a point midweek, and three against Burnley at the weekend.

Probably play an almost unchanged team midweek, although Dier needs to come out of the team, need more quality in the midfield, either Eriksen or Lo Celso to start.

I really don't like the table example that you are giving. We were only ever a few points away from 5th place under Poch.

I think that Jose is playing a really practical brand of football. To be honest it is the type of football I really like to see personally. The thing that he will have to teach us is how to be comfortable defending deep which is a real trademark of his. It is probably our next step in Jose's evolution.

I get your point mate, about being only a few points away from 5th under the previous manager, but Spurs were going in the wrong direction. Would they have beaten West Ham and Bournemouth with the old manager? Obviously we will never know, but my gut feeling I would have to say no. My only regret the change was not made a month earlier, then Spurs may have had another half a dozen points.

Being cautious, a few dodgy results and we'll be back in mid table with a few grumbles from the fans about Jose.

Couldn't have asked for a better start to be honest, West Ham, Olympiakos and Bournmouth.

The real tests are over xmas period

Those were just the games though mate, the previous manager was not getting wins out of.

Xmas period is not too bad. Chelsea at home, then Brighton (H), Southampton and Norwich away, have to be looking at taking at least 10 points from those games.

At the end of the day, we were in total freefall recently, and after losing to Brighton and then being unable to beat Sheff Utd, I seriously started doubt Poch. That's football that a manager who was wonderful for these years, can suddenly struggle to bring the best out of the same bunch of players.

That's in the past now. Since Jose took over, the equation was simple. Bring the team backup the table and in a position to chase down top 4 and qualify for next stage of CL.
He has succeeded in both. The first game was a very tricky one as we all know how West Ham raise their game against us. Yet, we stifled them for an hour and only two late goals gave the scoreline a false impression.
Jose still trying to find the best combo at the back and the defensive midfield area. He has still few things to iron out.
In the meantime, we have clobbered back 6 points on Chelsea. Their loss against West Ham shows you how we made the spammers look ordinary at their backyward.

Still in progress, but all going in the right direction

I think you could nick 4th place from Chelsea

What excites it most and that's the way the fixtures have landed.

We'll have the top 4 yet to come to us

We'll also have United to come to us.

Hopefully, few more good results and our players will have a solid basis from which to approach these games and also maybe we'll also have bolstered our squad before all these games

Sandy , what makes me laugh is a large portion of supporters on here were basically saying it wouldn’t make a difference changing managers I knew the team would start performing once we got rid of Pich and got in a top manager like Mourinho. I’m not saying Pochettino wasn’t a top manager, but things were clearly going spectacularly wrong behind the scenes and half the team were just not playing for him. No way in a million years we’re we beating Westham under Poch this season and I highly doubt we would of beaten Bournemouth either. Still work to do with that god awful defence, but Jose has 100% made a big difference and no pr** like Sizzle is ever going to make me think otherwise.

but Jose has 100% made a big difference
=====================

I think even that ball boy could have made a difference with this squad tbh

It just needed a change of ideas and after 6 years of same regime, players just want a change.

Jose didn't do anything other than put his arms around the players and make the instructions very simple. Don't play out of the back. Use route1 if necessary, and just be smart about it.
Even Jose said so (didn't do anything).

Though it takes n experienced (footballing wise) person to know that not much is needed with this squad.
