I get that a rebuild of this proportion takes longer than 6months, I get that we have a lot of deadwood(Ole is doing a decent job of getting rid of this). I get that Ole is building for the future. I get that Ole will probably not be an elite manager and is simply not good enough tactically right now.
The points we have dropped are not good enough. The way we play sometimes isn't good enough, there are glimpses though. Rashford still young and still scoring, he could have 25 G+A this season. Axel coming into the fold. Greenwood getting game time. Brandon Williams getting chances. Looking to buy younger players. Am I being too optimistic?
I know it's not acceptable right now, but is there a bigger picture to this? It might be really chit right now, but long term, will we possibly be thanking Ole a year or 2 down the line?

I dunno, there’s been reports that Joel Glazer loves Martial. Can’t see him being sold. Rashford, Haaland and Sancho is potentially a frightening front three. Problem is it’s potential. We really do need some proven forwards in the squad.

I agree. That's why I wouldn't be against Mandzukic in January even if he hasn't played much recently. If we can get him get him in now to train with us.

I’m not against signing Mandy. But I had more in mind us having a top forward in their prime. Between the age of 25-30. We don’t have one. I don’t consider Lingard a footballer.

That would be ideal. Who'd want to join United at present who's in that bracket though? Would Werner be an option? Don't watch enough foreign football to have a real informed opinion on that market I'm afraid. Hopefully our recruitment team do!

I do think it'll have to be a punt of a signing below the level we want currently but one we hope can come good, and come good quick.
God we really have got ourselves into an almighty mess these last few years!

Lack of movement is one thing. We do need a midfield which can control and help break down stubborn defences. I had a feeling this would happen due to a lack of signings in midfield or a number 10 (the system Ole prefers).
Mandzukic might not be the one we should go for. He is 33/34 and hasn't kicked a ball for half a season. On top of that he has a declining goal rate as well as having to adjust to a new league. I know it's back up but maybe we should look for players who either have played football or not as old so they have time to get up to speed.
