Gareth Bale speaking to BT Sport: "Spurs having José Mourinho there is an amazing statement from the club. He is a serial winner, Tottenham want to win trophies - I do not think there is a better partnership than Mourinho and Tottenham to try and win some trophies."
Just saying those comments are quite complimentary of Jose and Spurs in particular. Would 100% swap Christian Eriksen for Gareth Bale in a heartbeat. I honestly believe there’s a good chance of this happening in Jan and a big possibility of Eriksen going the other way. I have always stated Bale will be back at Spurs and will stick by it. Surely the most level headed of Spurs fans would take this ? Get Eriksen out the club and bring back Gareth, yes please

The one thing that has amazed me is how many of our fans believe Jose is happy with our prudent transfer strategy and believe he will unearth some unknown gems from across Europe. This is the same manager that wanted to pay 60m for Eric Dier. The same Eric Dier that many of you were so venomous about being near our starting 11 under Pochettino.
Bale just like Jose as manager comes with a certain degree of PR and media attention. The appointment/transfer probably pays for itself in Levy’s eyes.

I understand the allure of Bale, but given the financial out lay both upfront and in wages, wouldn’t that money be better spent elsewhere in the squad - regardless of whether it’s an up and comer or a bit time player?
Up front (Kane, Son, Dele, Moura, Lamela, and potentially Sessegnon) is where were fine in depth and quality. I’m not suggesting they can’t be improved, and Bale on his day would do that, but I really think we need to address the problems further back - GK / across the back four and in CM.

Even if it was feasible, would much rather spend the money on a DM.

EXactly my point. Bale comes with huge pedigree and would be a massive coup, despite some of the negativity on here in regards to us buying him. Let’s jusr see what happens in Jan hey

It would make sense if Bale's wage wasn't astronomical. Even at £200,000 a week it would be a good deal for Spurs but he is on double that.

He’s on treble that.

Still waiting out. Can never tell with Levy, but if he provides Mourinho with Bale, Reguilón and a striker, then no reason for me to go in on Levy
