Derby points deduction???

From the highly acclaimed 'The Athletic'...

Sheffield Wednesday’s defence against a misconduct charge over the sale of Hillsborough will be based around the belief that it was approved by the EFL and that the league was aware of the terms and the timing of the deal, The Athletic understands.

The Championship club are facing a severe punishment after being charged with an aggravated breach of the EFL’s spending rules, with owner Dejphon Chansiri and two former directors also in danger of receiving lengthy bans.

A 21-point deduction is considered the likely outcome among some clubs — although others within the game believe that the EFL could even push for Wednesday to face automatic relegation from the Championship and a points deduction from the start of next season if the charge is upheld. The club deny any wrongdoing and will fight any such punishment.

Wednesday are ninth in the Championship at present on 29 points, two points outside the play-offs. A 21-point deduction would drop them to the bottom of the table, four points behind current last-placed club Barnsley and eight points from safety.

Birmingham City were deducted nine points by the EFL last season for breaching profit and sustainability (P&S) rules but did not face a misconduct charge. Championship rivals Derby County, Reading and also Aston Villa, who were promoted to the Premier League at the end of last season, have previously sold their grounds to their owners. The Athletic understands that Derby’s stadium sale is being closely examined by the EFL and that developments in that case are likely this week or next.

So in summary...

- Sheffield Wednesday believe EFL approved all details of their ground sale.
- Club face huge point deduction or even automatic relegation.
- Derby could also face EFL action.

No insults, no gas lighting, no nasty little digs but.....

Notts Florest fans are obsessed with Derby's financial dealings (true, not up for debate) - nothing is going to happen. This silly little straw grasping articles are desperate.

Also, if and I say if a rival were to go 'under', it's the fans that would suffer - you're a strange lot if you celebrate that.

I can’t remember when I’ve been so worried, unless it was the time that Strett informed us that two halves make a quarter. I reckon he’s as on the ball as ever with this one. I doubt I will ever sleep again.

The EFL will capitulate on this as it is basically retrospective legislation. Something not allowed in English law. I don't think any sensible person thinks this is a threat. Wishful thinking from idiots.

Sounds a bit like Jom a few years ago, but Jom was really talking about his own "team"
