On Thursday Wolves welcome Besiktas to Molineux for the final group stage Europa League game.

As Wolves have already qualified for the last 32 knockout stage, coupled with the fact that Besiktas cannot qualify and will probably field a weakened side, it is to be expected that Nuno will make several changes for this game and rest some key players in preparation for the forthcoming league game against Spurs.

Wolves have lost only one game in the group stages and there is no reason to believe that they will not win this one. On the same evening Slovan Bratislava host Braga. Again, Braga has already qualified and Slovan cannot do so, as a result Braga will also, almost certainly, rest some key players so the result of that game is not a foregone conclusion. That game, probably more than the one at Molineux will decide who tops the table in group K at the end of the evening.

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport ESPN

Gem’s prediction: 2-0

Good to see that Bruno Jordao is out in Marbella training with the first team squad.
Big Willy is there too working on his recovery.

Albion held 1-1 so Leeds go top.

Shakhtar, Bruges, Olympiakos and Leverkusen join Inter, Salzburg, Benfica and Ajax in the Europa last 32.

Inter, Salzburg, Benfica and Ajax are the four we could play if we finish second in our group. So much easier options if we won the group. That’s easier as opposed to easy

If Jordao is fit wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a game tomorrow.

Boly seems well ahead of schedule so fears he wouldn’t play until late Jan seems to be ruled out now

Interesting disparity between the Europa league qualifiers (though I'm guess many clubs would see it as a blessing to go out of Europe rather than drop in to the EL). Bruges stay in Europe having not won a game and gained only three points from their group while Zenith who were in position to possibly win their group last night are out.

Nuno has confirmed that Vinagre wil play as will Ruddy but tight lipped on the rest. Besiktas have brought a few young lads with them and they will play. Not wholesale changes though.

It is ridiculous how far this organisations go now to reward mediocrity or even worse, abject failure. That goes for FIFA and UEFA

Good to see that Nuno is aware of our small squad issues, his words last week

Last week Nuno admitted squad strengthening is required to boost his small squad. He said: “It’s not about being busy, it’s about anticipating what you need, and the work is already on the move, the decisions will come when they have to come, but it’s clear that we have to bring in players.”

I think a main reason we will make mass changes tonight is that we could go all out for a win then still finish second in the group anyway if Braga get a result in Bratislava. Hope it’s a relatively experienced team we put out anyway so that it’s a game worth watching, which the Carabao cup game at Villa frankly wasn’t. So certainly hope to see Ruddy, Vinagre, Bennett, Kilman, Cutrone and Neto. Like also to see some of our star guys on the bench so we can step up a gear if Braga are losing
