Be considered to have failed if we don’t win a trophy this season?
Can we really harp on about his “winning mentality" if we don’t win anything?
Thoughts?
Will Jose Mourinho

Well I do, I just don’t get what I’m supposed to be so excited about.

If we don't win anything ........
my view of Mourinho will depend upon how well the team does.
If it makes 4th spot in the prem ... great.
If it gets to the final of the CL ..... triffic
If we beat Liverpool and Chelsea and ManCity and Arsenholes ... Good on Jose!
Jose has plenty of options to show how good he is without winning anything.

Small club mentality.
If Jose doesn't win something this season then he has failed and should leave and go to somewhere like Arsenal where he will be backed

To answer the OP, no. You could say that for next season. Not this. These players need to be rebuilt. You don't get rid of the "spurs" mentality over night. I think Poch didn't help it with his comments about the cups. The very top managers want to win it all. Even the league Cup, low I think priority, they want to win it. Poch's comments feed into and in grains the mentality into the side. This needs to be taken out. Jose has that drive. Though I think Spurs don't have long left, unless they invest in the side, to stay where they have been for the past few years (minus this).

In 4 games hes already come out and said a lot of the things that have wound us up for so long
Lose under poch and it was always we played well etc etc
Jose has called out the weak mentality straight away
hes a winner pure and simple and not afraid to say it how it is to get the players to respond.
People need to get with the program and accept Poch was finished and had become very stubborn with his views, tactics and excuses

Well if he’s a winner, he needs to win a trophy. How long does he get to do this?

Right!
At least 5 first team payers need to be replaced for next season. Its rebuilding time.
Only idiots would think he's going to win something with this squad.......
but of course it would be nice if he did!
