Leeds United v Cardiff Matchday Thread

Here i am ...........Bit late home from work
Welcome to the Matchday Thread, Like a lot of people i've got a strong dislike for both Harris and Cardiff but we won't let that spoil a good Win Though Harris will be wanting his side to bounce back after their midweek defeat.
Always a bit of a bogey team so hope the Lads can settle early and crack a few goals in .

Venue...Elland Road...Date...14th Dec...Kick Off...1500hrs

Team News
Leeds captain Liam Cooper could return from a calf strain if boss Marcelo Bielsa is satisfied he is 100% ready.
No other injury worries

Cardiff
Neil Harris may consider changes after a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Brentford on Wednesday.

Forward Junior Hoilett is a doubt after he limped out of the game midway through the first-half.

Match facts
Leeds United have lost their last three league matches against Cardiff, all during Neil Warnock's reign as Bluebirds boss.
Cardiff have lost just one of their last 11 away league visits against Leeds (W7 D3 L1), losing 1-0 in November 2015.
Leeds United are looking to record eight straight league victories for the first time since September 2009. The Whites haven't won eight consecutive league games within the same campaign since 1931-32 - a season in which they went on to be promoted to the top-flight.
Cardiff have won just one of their 11 away league games this season (D5 L5), a 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest in November.
With 46 points from their opening 21 games, this is Leeds' joint-best points tally at this stage of a season in the second tier (also 46 points in 1963-64 - considering 3 pts for a win)
No Championship side has scored more 90th minute goals this campaign than Cardiff (4 - level with Sheffield Wednesday).

So Cardiff have a pretty good record against us, but i'm pretty optimistic that we can extend this nice wee run we're on, 2-0 for me with Pablo and Bamford

The difference is WBA have a Charlie Austin to bring on from the bench, we have Nketiah who seems to aid in us losing control of the game. We need to sign in Jan, no two ways about it.

Don’t be too downhearted - you’re still 10 points clear of 3rd place which is a lot for the chasing pack to make up

We had a hiccup at Wigan midweek but corrected that today at Birmingham City to restore our rightful place at the top of the league and a further two point cushion.

Happy days!

Eddie comes on, and we lose control of games

Happens every week

Spot on.

So we need Bamford cover in Jan then. Can't blame all 3 goals on the Eddie introduction

People that don't know much about football can

Anyway I off, have a great weekend everyone

Let's hope they learned something from this.

Still in a very good position.

Well said. We'd have taken a lead half this big if offered it in July.

told you there would be 6 goals

Obviously disappointed, saw a few bits of the game at work and we looked to be all over them, and as has been said before..."then Bamford went off", still trying to understand how we managed to throw a 3 goal advantage

Never mind, still unbeaten and hopefully a lesson learned

Thanks for running the Thread Lads

I never thought Bamford would become one of our most important team members. The team actually doesn’t play as well if he is subbed! Even when he couldn’t buy a goal, we still played better with him on the pitch. Such a shame our bubble burst today. Let’s hope it is just a blip!
