Great team performance today

Make no mistake. Tottenham players came out of the game v Wolves, battered and bruised. This game was a character builder and showed what happens when a bunch of players play like a team.

When you look at some of the incidents in the game, plenty of examples of team play. Verts lost his man, and Toby just shuffled across and kicked the ball to corner. Both players acknowledged each other. Verts, ran ragged by Traore, was caught again by the speed merchant, but Kane dived in and brought the Wolves danger man down, taking one for the team.

Again Dier did the same and took one for the team.

Sometimes, games are like a scary small battles everywhere, and a team must pull itself together and if one of the players is struggling, others respond to help out.

Towards the end of the game, all the players were running to help out Verts. Players dug deep today and produced the mental toughness they need to survive games like this.

A game that had rain, wind, sliding tackles, speedy wingers, and above all, two teams trying hard to beat the other.

Neither side at anytime, looked like settling for a draw. This was all or nothing.
