WHAT IF AND WHAT COULD ‘AVE BEEN

This season will unfortunately just become one of โ€˜what ifโ€™ and โ€˜if onlyโ€™

What if we could have held on for another minute against Millwall
What if we could have put Boro to bed when we had the chance rather than conceding a late equaliser
What if we could have beat Hull, or Huddersfield or Cardiff or Wigan....or even for a draw against such average teams, rather than losing to them all

Weโ€™d be up there in the automatic places

But as it is, itโ€™ll be yet another mediocre season where we look back and wonder just what if....

How depressingly consistent we are at being just so bloody inconsistent

The Baggies & Weeds look to have broken away at the moment, but that could well change if either of them has a post turkey stutter.

Stick with Sabri strengthen if possible in January and playoffs are very much a possibility!

Agree we should stick with Sabri. We can still make the playoffs but so can about ten other teams.

We need to give our opponents more to think about. We need more intensity for 90 minutes. We need more pace.

If we can get £10mill for JC take it. Bring in Jota, and two from Kyle Taylor, Jack Marriott and Matej Vydra. Bring Tyler Walker back.

If we could get any of those mentioned, be I’d very impressed and heartened

I somehow feel we won’t get anyone who’ll make any great impact unfortunately

We will get someone. Last window the recruitment team worked quietly and efficiently to bring players in; mostly unknown. Some worked out, some didn't.

Same will happen this time.

Problem is, with that setup, it probably won’t result in any promotion challenge - we just can’t afford to be carrying passengers at this level

The return of Sow and hopefully Ribeiro should make us more balanced again.

Watson needs a rest. Semedo and Yates to take his spot. Might as well be against Hull, where only the unpredictability of the Championship gives me hope.

I think Mir and Muric will return early from their loans. 1-2 of our centre backs to be offloaded also. Maybe a surprise departure or two such as Carvalho or Robinson (hopefully).

Taylor from Charlton, Nketiah from his Leeds loan and Walker back suddenly gives us a wealth of options, but currently little service. Another problem to deal with.

Lamouchi could realistically face the axe if he loses the next three. He needs a lot of luck and a massive improvement.

A draw at Hull would be huge. Sets us up for a win at Wigan and momentum to beat Blackburn also.

If Ribeiro is back it’s possible. I just can’t see it without him. Our results without him show it.

Anyway. Time for bed here. Hope you all have a great Christmas.

We shouldn't hide our poor form by blaming Town for playing anti football. We were poor all over the pitch, Lolley has lost form and Hudders had both Cash & Lolley well marked down the right.

No point playing Carvalho on the left, needs to play in space behind Grabban, with the right tactics and coaching they should be an alternative match winning combination when Lolley is off form.

Aside from that the whole team looked sluggish and off the pace.
