Media Watch: ‘No doubt’ Guardiola is world’s best

Our final Media Watch of the decade ends with a declaration that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is the man to express the opinion, as he provided journalists with a glowing review after the boss clocked up a century of Premier League wins.
Tuesday’s sports pages also include comments former Barcelona midfielder, Xavi, who believes City will prioritise the Champions League in the New Year, whilst elsewhere, Georgia Stanway has been reflecting on the level of competition in the FA Women’s Super League.

From the players
Goal: There is no doubt that Guardiola is the best in the world – Zinchenko
“It’s unbelievable. He’s the best in the world, no doubt.

Men's Team
A City Decade: 10 of the best games
“For me, the most important thing is he knows the right thing to say at the right time, and the team feels these type of moments. Of course, he is unbelievable with tactics."
Daily Mirror: Pep Guardiola is hurting - but will go all out to win Champions League, says Xavi
“Pep is a born winner. It will hurt him that Manchester City are so far behind Liverpool in the league - and he won’t give up.
“He will be realistic though. The gap is a big one and at the moment it doesn’t look likely that they can make it three titles in a row.

"With that in mind, I think there’s a big chance Pep will prioritise The Champions League.
“They will be two big games coming up against Real Madrid - and maybe there will be a chance to rest players before these games that they wouldn’t have if they were in a title race.
“Pep will want to win every trophy that he can - but if you’d asked him at the start of the season what he would prefer, I’m sure he would have said the Champions League."

North West Evening Mail: Women's Super League is becoming ‘more competitive’ says Barrow's Georgia Stanway
“It’s getting more competitive and it’s getting more entertaining for fans to watch, for us to be a part of and if we can get as many fans to the games as possible, then we need to entertain them.
“If you’re doing that by playing good football, then that’s just the aim of what we want to do."

Whereas I agree, all this talk about the Champions league will only crank up the pressure on Pep and the team.

The gap is significant, there is already pressure to do well in the CL because of that. City's CL games could be a nervy affair and dummies could be spit if it doesn't go well.
