In the two finals, 13 English players got game time out of a possible 100 available players.

Of the 44 starters, only 8 were English.

In the EL final that's down to 1 from 22.

But aye, nothing to see here

In what world do you think anyone cares about %'s? How has it worked out for the Scottish national team? The best players of the last 20 years in the Scottish league have been from overseas.

As many have said give Celtic and Rangers the SKY tv money and of course they would compete, they are 2 of the biggest names in world football.
At this moment in time though due to the riches they have down there then neither team would be top 6 but they would certainly hold their own in the EPL, and as has been shown many times over the years one off ties would be very interesting indeed.For me the EPL is not a particularily exciting league to watch ,teams like Liverpool and Man City can be good to watch due to the football they play ,the rest are pretty bland.The transfer fees are of course ridiculously inflated ie a £1M player costs £10M down there.
Outside of the relatively cash rich Celtic and Rangers(to a lesser extent as they are currently living outwith their means again!)) the rest of the SPL is unfortunately poor no doubt . Teams like Aberdeen ,Hearts ,Hibs and the Dundee teams all have decent sized supports and given some investment would provide decent competition .Sadly dont know where any such investment would come from?

It’s all rather catch 22
Until you have a product that has a true global need then what do you do

Celtic have amassed probably 100 + million from Euro TV money in the past decade
Going forward this may be shared but the lions share is going to only 2 teams
Brighton will get more via the domestic tv money

We could take the Euro TV monies and share it out in the SPL allowance BG other to grow and make the domestic set up more interesting to a global market

But we know that’s not happening

So the riches of Euro TV money only serve to increase the gap in Scotland and make the product uninvestable

And most are quite happy with that
