I saw enough of Benkovic in his brief appearance to be convinced it’s fitness and not ability that has been keeping him away from the side.

In some ways you have to see that as a good thing, but obviously very frustrating for him and us. I hope that he can get some consistent fitness soon. Soyuncu has probably saved us £50m. It would be great if Benkovic could nail down that 3rd choice CB spot that is soon to be vacated by Morgan.

Put him on the bench
Gives us cover for centre back, attacking midfield
He could probably do cover for kasper and Jamie as well,
So underrated 🤔

Remember when Lothar Matthaus made the switch from midfield to defence to become one of the greatest ball playing centre backs?

I think we’d see similar results with King.

If only, unfortunately they made the catastrophic error of including a crocked midfielder in the squad of 25 instead of the King.

Thoughts of having a cultured player at CB confidently bringing the ball forward and making telling passes won't come about....so sad!
