What a difference a decade makes

If Gerrard becomes a good enough manager then I'd take him of course.

Sentimentality shouldn't come into it., only his quality as a manager should matter.

If Rangers win the SPL he should leave Scotland and go to a top league. Smaller clubs in the top tiers in England and maybe even Spain or Germany might take a punt on him.

I'd like to see him become more of a European manager than an English manager.

I cannot see gerrard becoming a good manager at rangers. Its not exactly a hot bed of technical football.

Rodgers went up there and he brought what he knew form chelsea and liverpool with him and it was so easy all he did was really drive it on.

Did he actually learn much form celtic or did he have his time up there to learn form his liveprool mistakes.

In any event he's walked into a great 11 at leicester without needing to buy much and has done well to get vardy's ego to work for him.

Gerrard though? throwing money about and looks to me like he's making rookie errors and the mistake of critiquing his own players in public etc.

I just don't know.

I would agree if he manages to win a title in scotland he should pick the first "good" championship side he can and get promoted with them.

frankly he wouldn't qualify probably to manage in europe. Not sure he has the badges.

no pep will be shot through by 2024. even if you are not being serious etc.

pep will give back to barca. once he puts 3 years there his career will be largely complete.

Only if we are going the internal route should Ljinders be considered wayyyyyy before Gerrard. Other than that, it should be a coach that shares the same tactical philosophy that the squad currently has that should replace Klopp. That's where the continuity comes from...not just replacing people from within the club. I trust Edwards with these kind of appointments though.

Regarding FSG, they have taken risks and made plenty of mistakes along the way but none that would've jeopardised the club in the long term...so for that they've been great owners imo. They have always maintained that they would like to build a self-sustaining model that will benefit the club in the long term...people are finally seeing the vision.

Also how they manager the squad 3 years from now will be the real acid test to see whether they have really learnt from the mistakes or not.

Klopp's contract entering it's final years. Van Dijk, Matip, Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino & Mane all pushing 30 or more...but that's another day.
