Injury-hit Wolves will be without Ruben Vinagre, who suffered a hamstring injury in the midweek FA Cup defeat.

This has led to left-sided player Ryan Giles being recalled from loan at Shrewsbury, and the teenager is likely to be on the bench.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has no fresh injury worries.

The only absentee is full-back Yan Valery, who has been suffering from a virus but is expected to rejoin training at the end of the month.

How Danny Ings got his groove back
Wolves lose to Man Utd in FA Cup
MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES

@Mark_Scott_: Southampton are now looking up rather than down the table following their fine run of form, with the Saints currently closer to European qualification than the relegation zone.

Danny Ings has been a major reason behind their resurgence, with his superb scoring run understandably leading to clamour for an England recall.

If any team could have done without an FA Cup replay in midweek, it was Wolves, with this already their 39th game of the season, which is more than any other Premier League side has played.

It looks as though that might be starting to catch up with them after some tired performances of late, when they've looked especially jaded in attack.

VIEW FROM THE DUGOUT

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl on Wolves: "You have to praise this team, because they do a fantastic job. They have good quality in attack, and also defending they don't concede a lot of goals. I think they have only lost five Premier League games so far, and that shows a lot.

"All the opponents are strong, and we are feeling also strong at the moment, and this is important for us."

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo: "We must realise that everyone knows how we play, and teams are trying to find new things.

"We have to raise our standards to sustain it and take advantage of the things we have. We try new solutions.

"There are two ways to improve, change - which we will never do - so it's about the building process."

VAR robbed Liverpool of a perfectly good goal as there is no way than Van Dyke fouled de Gea. De Gea made no protest at all until the ball went in the net and then verbally attacked the ref getting a yellow card for his trouble. The other goal that was chalked off was another forensically examined offside decisions with a bit of shoulder 'offside' absolute shiite as usual. Liverpool did just what they needed to do to win the game and no more.
I have no great love for Liverpool either but every game that Man U lose keeps them within touching distance of us and that's a good thing in my book.

I think it was a foul. Van Dijk's head made contact with De Gea's arm causing him to drop it. I would be fuming if that happened to Rui and it wasn't called.

The goal that was ruled out for offside was called by the linesman in real time, so wasn't forensically examined. It was offside, you didn't even need to draw lines.

Both Perreira and Martial missed absolute sitters. Seems to be a theme when teams play Liverpool this year. I recognise that it was a good result for Wolves, but am not going to pretend to be happy for Liverpool when they win or that it is well deserved.

I thought Liverpool looked quite nervy today. Guess they can rarely have gone into a game against Utd where they were so overwhelmingly expected to win. Seemed to weigh heavily on them. Utd gave them a run for their money but just aren’t very good at the moment. Our next two games are against Liverpool then Utd and we’ll be favourites to lose both the games, but I don’t think we will

I'm absolutely sick to death of plastic scousers all over my social media, terwats that's have never set foot on Merseyside giving it the big un because "their" team is nailed on to win the league.

We can't stop them, but I hope to God we give those s a bloody nose on Thursday. I've no problem with genuine liverpool fans but the absolute sh!thouses that tag on to them need a proper dose of reality. But for VAR they would have got it at Anfield, I dearly hope we stuff em on Thursday.

P.S. these remarks have nothing whatsoever to do with my Evertonian connections

Come on Gem get that preview up.
